For the last question I got 80.3 as the answer I got didn't need to be rounded up?
Original post by AQAbio/business
Hi i made a small calculation error on the last question and got 81 instead of 80.4, i was wondering how many of the 6 marks ill get on it?

3-5 depending on whether if that small mistake affected the rest of your working out
that right but its the wrong angle, you need to use the cosine rule to find the length of the missing side and substitute the value of the missing side into the sin rule in order to find the missing angle

Thats exactly what i done and my teacher agreed, she done the paper with us after the exam its 3.7
The difference is soooo little but it was 3.7 trust me

it was 3.8

Let me explain it to you:

the value of X was NOT 3.75 (it was too small)

so it must have been somewhere after 3.75

WHICH ROUNDS TO 3.8

It's a common mistake. I done the same mistake as you when I done a practice paper a few days ago lol.
did you need to write frequency density on the axis of the histogram? Because old mark schemes havent mentioned it

Original post by rlb2000
I remember that the question 23 was on the histogram if thats any help

You mean the shades region of the 2 sectors? That was more like question 21

Thought question 21 was finding the upper bound of that formula

I didnt round it up, i must of done something small as when i pressed sin -1 i got exactly 81
For those discussing the answer to the final question. I believe the answer is 80.4 and here is the solution.

Can someone make a scanned version please?
What was question 10+23?????????

That's question 23 I think. (or maybe 21 is bounds and 23 sector)

Question 10 is the mean from the grouped frequency table (i think)

Hi I'm going to start and unofficial markscheme so add your answers
Reps are not necessary but would be appreciated :smile:

It would be really useful if you could remember the question numbers
1. Order numbers correctly and include a key
b) 9/20=
0.45
2a. 5a*2b*3c =
30abc
b. Factorise fully 3y +6 =
3(y+2)
c. Expand x(x-3)=
x^2-3x
3.
x=9.25
4. Smallest packet was best value for money because it was cheapest per bag of crisps
5. 4 times as many red than green: There were 0.4 blue and 0.15 yellow.
0.4+0.15+4x+x=1
0.55+5x=1
5x=0.45
x=0.09
4x=0.36
Green- 0.09 Red- 0.36
6a. 20.3
b. 68.04kg
c. 2.61m
7. 3.8
8a. 4:3
b. 480 pixels
9.x= 124 degrees
10. 7.92
11.£42.29
12. x=144 degrees
13.
-2 -1 0 1 2
-1 3 1 -1 3
Draw curve
14. 3 Bars
15. No, because 7766.22 was greater than 7500 pounds
16. 128g
b.11g
17. 30.1
18. 10a^5b^4
b. y= 5p^2-x
19.11 males
20. x= 0.29 or x= -2.29
21. 29.25
22. F.d- 1.6, 3.2, 2.4, 1.8, 0.3
23.28.9
24a. -1/3x+4
b. 2x/(x+1)(x-1)
25. 80.4

For the first question (part b) I left it as 9/20, will I still get the marks?
how many marks for the first question?
Original post by ScrewTheExams
7 marks in total i think,

a - 2
b - 2
c - 3

The body mass thing where it gave you the formula and for (a) you had to use it to work it out
B = m / h^2 (Body mass = mass / height^2)

for (b) you had to rearrange it and work out one the mass or height, given the other 2.

for (c) you had to work out 145% of 180 cm.

^ that was 3 marks

so 7 in total

(I think)
Does anyone know if this ok? I drew the table for the trial and improvement in pencil and also drew the graph for Q13 in pencil too. It doesn't have to be in pen does it? I can't remember if i used pencil anywhere else but I hope it is.

7 was the trial and improvement question, 16 was the cumulative frequency one where you had to get the median and IQR, do you know what 10, 21 and 23 was?

10 was the mean from cumulative frequency wasn't it?
Guys I doubled checked question 7 (trial and improvement) and it was in fact 3.8. The reason why is because you had to use the tester value 3.75. Once you got the answer you would have found the answer was too small, so you go for the opposite which in this case was 3.8 as it was bigger. If you havent included the tester value of 3.75, you have lost a mark, and if you put the answer as 3.7 you again have lost a mark. However 3 marks are still enough for a 4 marker to be fair

Is the trial and improvement still 3.7? lolololol
ez
i got the same answer as well lol
