University accommodation deposit HELP?

I'm looking at a few university's to apply for in October (Iv just finished year 12) one that caught my eye is Bournemouth. However, they want a £300-£600 deposit (depending on the accommodation) am I supposed to pay it upfront? I'm curious because what about families that can't pay that sort of money upfront? Or would it come from the first payment of student loan?

HI Emeliaaaaa,

Yes, I'm afraid you do need to pay the deposit when you confirm your accommodation. You could always take a look at some alternative accommodation options too, they might have different arrangements.
