Latex parser broken?

What's happened to latex? It seems no longer able to parse the following:

u^2-1^2

u212u^2-1^2

There seem to be intermittent problems; since yesterday or the day before.

I regularly clear my cache - may help - but just a guess.

Yes, it's working again.

u^2-1^2

u21=u212=(u+1)(u1)u^2-1 = u^2-1^2 = (u+1)(u-1)
u212=(u+1)(u1)u^2-1^2 = (u+1)(u-1)

See above - there's some kind of problem.

I seem to get those messages recently too. It coincides with problems that the site has been having with crashing, pages not loading etc so I wouldn't be surprised if the two things were connected.

Do we know if anyone is working on fixing this?

I write most of my replies using LaTeX so if it doesn't work I (and a lot of others) aren't going to help as much.

Very frustrating.

I noticed problems a couple weeks ago and have reported. I think it relates to other bugs they're aware of and updates they're doing atm. Fingers are crossed it's resolved soon.
If you're experiencing problems with tsr, you can report it here: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=357

But it looks like kvothe has already done it this time :smile:

u21=u212=(u+1)(u1)u^2-1 = u^2-1^2 = (u+1)(u-1)
u212=(u+1)(u1)u^2-1^2 = (u+1)(u-1)

u21=u212=(u+1)(u1)u^2-1 = u^2-1^2 = (u+1)(u-1)
u212=(u+1)(u1)u^2-1^2 = (u+1)(u-1)

Working again?

Doesn't work for me, incredibly irritating.

Hmm, nor for me again. Does anyone know if this is going to be fixed? If not, I'm off. As Gauss so wisely said: "Mathematica sine aliquam, forum sine atsruser"

Can we have confirmation please that this issue is being looked into?

I'm disappointed in the lack of feedback - this is seriously disrupting the maths forum and we could end up losing members.

@Chilledtobits, see above.
I don't see any evidence of it actually being reported, unless it was in the major update thread, which now seems to have vanished; or at least I can't find it.

If it is still reported, can someone provide the link, otherwise this thread is just whinging and isn't going to achieve anything.
Hi guys,

Yes, the issue was reported earlier this week and our developers are currently working to fix it as soon as possible. Apologies for the temporary inconvenience.

Thanks for providing us with further information.

Chris
