They've never asked:

- "To what extent is Liberalism a single doctrine" question
- Anything on Liberalism + Capitalism/Free-market economics


It's safe to say Liberalism + Equality won't come up as that was the last 45 marker on Liberalism. I think it would also be necessary to rule out Liberalism + Democracy because that came up in June 2014

Edexcel don't repeat so equality won't come up
It seems to be modern vs classical or democracy

Yeah that's what I thought.
So they can ask about ML and CL in regards to:
Just in general
Collectivism and individualism
Equality
The state

Anything else?

I think it used to be one of the essay questions up to the late 2000s, so it's quite unlikely that they would throw it in, but just in case though... lol
Modern Liberalism vs classical liberalism and Individualism vs collectivism seem to be very similar. Or is it just me?

yeah, there's only about a page in my text book which covers it so it's quite unlikely

I think it'll be a classical vs modern question. But for democracy maybe something to do with constitutionalism + the state?

I think a question on the Paris summit might come up for environment, and a question on academies for the welfare states as they have both been pretty significant in the news this year. For law and order, terrorism was big in the news obviously around november/december however there was a question about terrorism on last years paper. There have also been talks about opening new prisons around the country so that might be a possibility for law and order but I'm not 100%. I also think that a question about a new runway at heathrow is definitely likely for environment and maybe a question on power stations.

The last question they asked was "Liberalism is defined by the desire to minimise the role of the state." Discuss.

So something along those lines? Or along the lines of "To what extent do Liberals support the state?"? (loool please don't judge my created question)

No it's absolutely fine!!
I'm just trying to make sure the questions they do ask on the state will they basically require the same line of argument?
