Do you feel safe in public places?

Do you feel safe in public?

I find myself on high alert in public places such as the high street. Im always holding my bag tight and looking out for dodgy people. Every time I see people drunk or arguing it reinforces my fear.. Does anyone else feel like this?

im alright

i just fear using a public toilet tho
The drunk or arguing I get, but otherwise I'm fairly calm. However I am a 6'6" guy, so I don't think many people would attempt to attack me

I've never felt concerned for my safety ~ even out in the city centre at 1am :cute:

I guess Oxford is a relatively safe place... I'll need to make sure I exercise a little caution in future locations haha

Mostly, yes. If I am catcalled, if I see a car driving really slowly when I'm walking on the footpath, or if a car goes past me and they beep, then I don't feel safe. At night I don't feel safe at all
Fairly safe

I think I'd be too scared to go anywhere alone in London :')
Daylight is fine for central London, just not at night - I just think that the more people there are around you, the safer it is cause if anything happens then there are at least witnesses and even maybe people who'll help... I'm a lot more wary if I'm alone at night in public places, so I just call someone to talk to me until I'm home.
I sometimes get middle aged men sticking their tongue out at me when they drive past which is quite creepy... and I also get beeped and waved at by random people...but yeah I don't feel safe at all when i'm outside.

Yeah that is a good point
During the day, yeah, at nightime, not so much, but if it's early in the morning and still dark then that's fine by me

If i'm in an area known for crime then I'd probably feel very unsafe.

Im quite shocked by the poll results so far
I don't feel safe at night what so ever. Mainly because I have heard some terrifying things that has happened in my area at night and it scares me  At night I literally RUN home especially when a car door opens...

I generally feel safe in all public places until I catch a pervert looking my way, or a guy following me-which leads me to go up to a stranger to talk to them just so that creepy guy can go away! :frown:
