For the first question did the organic compounds remain cyclic or go to straight chains?

I'm pretty sure it remains cyclic.
Does anyone remember the answer to the last question on the first page?

I remember the question asking for a condition for the reaction and I put H3PO4.
My friend said they wanted ALL conditions, so acid AND high temp + pressure?

What did you put, cos that's the one question that's annoying me, despite being only one mark.

I put H2SO4 catalyst and heat

It's an acid catalyst (commonly H2SO4) and heat. H3PO4 might still get u the mark. I'm pretty sure we didn't need to be specific about pressures and temperatures because it wasn't ethene that was reacting with water. However it did say 'H2O' and not steam, so maybe they might say allow any temperature above 100deg.
H3PO4 and H2SO4 always get the mark

not sure if they specified but I did skeletal

Yes! I got -346 i did exactly that! Hope it's right

I though it was 250cm of solution, so isn't 250 the mass

Don't think they specified I displayed

They would have wanted: H3PO4 catalyst, 6MPa, 300 degrees Celcius. That's what I learned for the conditions... Pretty sure that's right.

Edit: this may only be for the hydration of ethene. (May not apply to that question) but definitely a high pressure and temperature are needed!

I got +281 ..

I got -281. They said to calculate the enthalpy change of formation, but they gave us combustion data, so the arrows would have been pointing down, instead of up.

Yea it said skeletal. I realised after I drew the displayed formula lol then I had to rub it out.

It said something about each cm is 1g

Crap, can you remember how many marks it was worth?

I think it was 2 marks
83 for an A, which is pretty high compared to last years of 78.
