differentiation

Hi guys ,
I'm trying to differentiate the function blow using chain rule but i keep getting wrong answers! do you think chain rule is the way to differentiate this

It's a "function of a function", so you need to use the chain rule in some way or other :smile:

So if we left f(x) = 2e - x, then you want to do d/dx(2 ln f(x)).

Which is the same as 2 d/dx(ln f(x))).

But the derivatve of ln f(x) is f ' (x) / f(x)
i remember i used to this at IGCSE MATHS EDEXCEL
