I'm having problems with erection

Hi,

I'm having this little bit of a problem. I've started having sex with my gf recently but I'm having problems with erection. I can erect but when I do, I can't put on a condom because the erection is immediately gone and when we finally managed to erect I'm done quite quickly and that will happen even without the condom... I wanted to ask if it's a regular problem among others and it will get better in time or if is there some way to "cure" it. Or if I just have to go and see a doctor. It's really making a problem, obviously. Is there some way so I can last longer? I'm 20 and in a good physical form so I don't think that would be the problem.
Do you have some advice of what to do? Thanks.

How long does it take to put it on?
There are two things here. The first is very probably a mind thing - confronted with a condom, something is going 'eek' and you're losing your erection. Am I right in reading your post as saying that you're using another form of contraception, so sometimes have sex without? Is there a problem maintaining then?

The second just needs some practice. You need to learn what the signs are that you're about to come and then, if you don't want to do so just then, doing something to delay that. How quickly do you come when you masturbate?

It's at this point that I highly recommend Bernie Zilbergeld's book, which contains plenty to think about and exercises for both erection issues and coming quicker than you'd like. In the UK, the first edition is known as 'Men and Sex'; in the US it was 'Male Sexuality' and hence the title of the second edition was 'The New Male Sexuality'. Amazon invariably has at least one listing for at least one of them available for 1p+postage second-hand.

Yeah. I was thinking that it might be "in the head" but don't really know what to do with it. I'll definitely try the book. Thx. We didn't had sex without it because she's not taking any pills.

About the signs... it's kinda hard to tell because without it it's not taking long to come. And I don't really want to stop every few seconds. Is there some another way?

If you don't sort out alternative methods of contraception, I'd suggest finding a condom that's easier to put on.

Do you come quickly when masturbating? Either way, the solution is practice, starting when you're alone.

There are people who will suggest using 'delay' condoms, but these have an anaesthetic which affects both parties. If you want to not feel anything during sex, using a dildo is much easier...

He needs to do more masturbating, not less. Amongst other things, it's how he'll start to learn to control when he comes.

Sounds like nerves.. Learn to be more comfortable with your girlfriend and ask if there's anyway she can help in this situation. Some other things may help, ie, cutting down on the porn or possibly having sex more will ease you into getting used to the situation.

(and if you're still reading this after hearing to watch porn less then congratulations!)
