for rationalism and liberalism question, anyone thinking Mill is okay? At the end I just put that Mill believed rationalism meant that humans had the capacity to achieve higher pleasures, which separated them from animals, and therefore all humans have the right to pursue such pleasures, thus positive freedom.

is that even right?

I think it'll be
- Nationalism
- Multiculturalism
- Ecologism

Then two 15m for Feminism (because feminism has come up 5 years in a row)

I was fearing the ecologism 45 marker. :s-smilie: I dislike that ideology. I think those seem like good predictions. :yep:

Gonna try and predict the topics that could come up now :h:. I'll get back to you (someone feel free to add your own two cents in).

ANYONE???

ANYONE???

You're not going to pick up marks with only one argument in favour/against the proposition. That's an introduction and one paragraph at best.

Group the mark scheme questions by topic and then you'll see which questions came up when. Anything recent - new or regurgitated - won't come up. It's that easy.

I said the same points as you and my 15 markers weren't long. But i can't dwell now I guess, gonna focus u4 (I have A LOT to learn :argh:). What was the third question you did?

Rationalism (15)- individuals are born with reason and rationality, self reliant
Modern liberals believe people can self actualise and improve themselves through the acquisition of knowledge - rational debates rather than conflict

Did you do the 45 marker by any chance on conservative new right being more united than divided?
Original post by xxvine
For some reason I'm scared lol
I feel my answer isn't as two sided as it should be ahh

It doesn't have to be exactly balanced as long as you showed a clear argument on a few point you should get the marks

On the new right question, I did 6vs2

You will pick up marks if you make sure you develop the other side of the argument. but, because there's a lot of marks for division within the new right, it's fine having more support for one side. Maybe 4v4/5v3 would be better, but not if you have stronger arguments for the dominant side.

One thing is for sure I need to do well on unit 4😂 Because by the looks of it I didn't do well in unit 3

1.

'Nationalism is a recipe for peace and international order.' Discuss.

2.

'Nationalism is inherently expansionist and aggressive.' Discuss.

3.

'Nationalism inevitably breeds conflict and war.' Discuss.

Would you say these are all variants of the same question, guys?

Yes i'd say they're the same. Would you predict one of these to come up? Because the last time something like that came up was in 2014 but the other questions havent been asked in 3/4 years... Idk i'm confused

I thought it was "why do they support the evolutionary road to socialism" (rather than 'evolutionary road to gradualism' as someone said) - I'm now worrying I misread it!!!

No ur right I just worded it wrong because I forgot  but ye it's just another way to format the "inevitability of gradualism" question

Yeah I was thinking the second one would come up, but then I realised that the third one came up in 2014... So it may be possible, just perhaps not likely? The wording on some of these questions really are set to catch you out aren't they... :erm:

Pretty much. What if they just put a "to what extent is nationalism a single doctrine" type question 🌾
