I found it really hard too! Last year's exam was 85 for A* and 92 for full UMS and it was easier than this year so hopefully this will increase our chances

Seriously?

I literally have no time for anything else in a D1 paper except the maths. It's soo tight for time :afraid:

Im sitting it. Probs na get 20ums. Dnt need extra time to waste gettinf useless ums
I don't love S2, but it looked like a lesser evil compared to D1 :s-smilie: It's only really important if I mess up my C3 and C4 (please not again!) and need the UMS to make my insurance. Fingers crossed it won't come to that! :argh:

Focus on summer images of Newnham College gardens in your mind and repeat over and over again: "this is a means to an end, this is a means to an end..."

Trust me it took me three hours the other day to complete a paper :O
Then again I was busy gossiping with my friends at the same time...
D1 turns you into a bad person

Just sleep during

I'm hoping for a B at least in case I miss out on A* across C3/4 :frown:

I think I'll try that!

Though I have vowed not to think about Cambridge during my major exams because it could lead to me panicking

You can't - it's impossible.
Will spend the time using the quick sort on my life. I have M2 10 minutes after D1 as well - Edexcel clearly unable to schedule maths exams.

Do D2, D1 is actually enjoyable in comparison. Nothing can be as bad as three iterations of simplex tableau.

Doing a past paper now and having to add up 19 event times makes me want to stab something

*That s*** moment when you spot the sum of event times in the question and the calculation has already been done*

Oh yeah, I'm the absolute worst at that. I'm always convinced I can talk and do maths at the same time. (I can't)

To get 480 overall?
You need A* maths right?

Yes, all you need from D1 is the graph theory terminology and linear programming.
