Ocr gateway p1 p2 p3 15/06: Officialthread

Hello everyone. We all have the physics unit one exam on Wednesday 15th June so I thought I'd start a thread where we can share predicted topics and any last minute helpful resources. I've created a word document that contains the topics I've predicted will appear in the exam which is attached. However, there is no guarantee they will indeed be in the paper. Here are some of the websites that are useful in revising:
http://revisionworld.com/gcse-revision/science/ocr-gateway-science/ocr-gateway-science-p1-and-p2
http://www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/gcse-gateway-science-suite-physics-b-j265-from-2012/
Although at this point, you should have really done all the past papers.
I have also attached the 2015 physics paper. I don't have the mark scheme on the laptop I am using but I can attach it tomorrow afternoon.
Good luck revising!

Do not know if you will benefit from this but have a P3 key terms study set here on Quizlet:

How did everyone find the exam??

For the calculations (as they're easy to check with others) I got:

1800J for wasted energy
Can't remember the efficiency one - 60% ?

60 degrees for water and 40 degrees for plastic beaker

7.83A for the highest current (oven)

2m/s^2 for acceleration
280,000J for workdone and 56,000 watts for power

Were there any more calculations?

YAY! Yeah I got 540p too

1.5kw x 20hrs to get 30kwh

1 kwh = 18p so 30 x 18 = 540p yay

How did you find the paper overall ?

And for the P2 6 marker I put
Source A - gamma
Source B - alpha
Source C - beta
Source D - gamma
What was the last question about, because I put 28000 not 56000
what did everyone write about the first six market - how heat is transferred in a double glazed window ? I didn't really revise double glaze windows in depth 😬

Crap I did 0.15 kW x 20 hours x 18 and ended up with 54  Seems like I probably won't even get a single mark on that question :frown:
