What question was that?
How did you guys integrate 8cos^3x + 6 sin x?

Did you substitute 6 cos x + 1 instead of 8cos^3x?

did any of u lot manage to do the last question
part b of the last question specifically??
Reply 65
no I mean the last one where u had to show something with the cone and stuff

Yeah. It took me a while - I sat there puzzled for a bit. For a, you had to work out the volume of the cone and the radius of the cone using the angle. Then, you had to input the value of the radius into the volume equation. Finally, set that equal to 0.4t and solve for h^3.

For B, it was a classic rates of change question where you had to use da/dt = dh/dt * da/dh or something like that. Took me a while but you had to use the radius of the question.

For C, this was hopefully an easy two marks with you just working out h and inputting the value in.

btw did u have to put the +c in for the intergration question

For one of them I did. But for ones working out areas under curves, there's no need to do so.

that's about right thanks man
Yeah i got the same

if you are talking about the particles question, then 220/27. I know, lots of nasty fractions as answers this year.

Answer was two plus three root three.

Also I rmb the question was 8cos^3(x) + FOURsinx.

You sub the cos3x equation above in, giving cos3x + 6cosx + 4sinx

Then it's routine.
Do you guys think the grade boundaries will be lower this time around, in January they were incredibly high (84 for an A I think), would they drop it down to 72 like the 2013 papers, considering that these were harder exams?

I got 4 and 4 for a and d and 12.25 for p
