I have a few friends who are muslims and they've never tried to sacrifice their girlfriends. You might consider Islam be one of a few factors but it certainly isn't the root cause or we'd have a hell of a lot more stabbed girlfriends.

As far as we know, anything could have triggered the breakdown.

Actually during the Ramadan muslims are not allowed to eat or drink. It is certainly if someone has a mental illness he will be affected by this religious regime. If Ramadan was banned in the UK than he would certainly not be triggered.
