Did anyone do the vestors?
I got (0, -5/3, -5/3) and (4, ?, ?)
Can't remember the 4 one

I got (4, -10/3, -1/3) and (0, 10/3, -5/3)

were 5/3 and 1/3 your lamba values?
I got that same answer as you, I belive it's correct

I got k=2! But some people I know got k=6 :/

I'm CERTAIN that it was
what do you think 63/64 will be ?
What were the grade boundaries for last year? Personally I feel this paper was a bit harder than last years so they'll probably be a bit lower

Yes something like that
I think the other coordinate wad (4, -10/3, -1/3) but not sure if i remembered correctly.
I would say the vectors, diff eq, binomial and parametrics were slightly harder than last years, with the only one I would say being easier being the half life type question (can't rememeber topic). Last year was 63 for an A* so I'm going for 61 or 62 this year.
for the singel angle identity questions what did everyone get for the 4 marker did they get 2 outside the bracket?

You and me both :indiff: hopefully wont get penalised too heavily though

what values for theta did u get
Original post by banna1998
what did people get for the value of theta when you had to solve the quadratic with a cos identity?

I got cosθ = 1 or -1/6, so θ = 0 or 360, which weren't in the range, or θ = 99.6 or 260.4

Did you get a and b in part before as like 5/2, and 9/2 (one of them was minus but can't remember which)?

I got A -5/2 and B 9/2

63 A*, 57 A, 52 B. I agree it was slightly harder.
If i got 60 on C3 and 64 on C4 do you think i did enough to scrape an A*?

Well I ****ed it up completely, sigh I guess maths isn't my subject.

I got the same but -1/3 not 1/3. I wrote mine on my hand so i could remember it lol

Yes i got those values! i crossed the 0 and 360 and wrote "not in range" for the others
unofficial markscheme anyone?
UMS prediction for 55-58 raw?

I was expecting a really really really horrible paper after core3. But it was actually alright. Slightly more challenging than previous years but at least it was nothing like core 3. I couldn't do that part c of the vector question, first part of the last question and one more part question. With a couple of stupid mistakes here and there, I think I've (hopefully) got about 60/75. What do you think this would be? Honestly after the core 3 disaster I just want to maintain my A. Don't care about A* anymore.

I'm CERTAIN that it was

2tanϴ = 3x

Differentiating it implicitly

2sec^2ϴ * (dϴ/dx) = 3

(dϴ/dx) = 3/(2sec^2ϴ)
= 3/(2(1+tan^2ϴ))
= 3/(2+2tan^2ϴ)
= 6/(4+4tan^2ϴ)

And from the question tanϴ=3x/2
Therefore tan^2ϴ = 9x^2/4
Putting this into (dϴ/dx) gives

(dϴ/dx) = 6/(4+4(9x^2/4))
= 6/4+9x^2 as required
