C3 went really well for me but i think I made a lot of silly mistakes in this one (this was a standard paper as well )- I will probably miss A* by 1-15 ums .

I would say so yes, I think the A* for C3 will be around the 60 mark and the A* for C4 around the 62 Mark
I don't give AQA but how was core 4? What was the Vectors question based on?

Doea anyone remember the equations needed to work out thw half life one? As in what info they gave you
All the answers I can remember putting. No idea if any of them are correct so feel free to comment:

A= -5/2
B= 9/2

-1+7X-22X^2/3

theta = 99.6° , 260.4°
(Rejecting cos0 = 1 as solutions are outside the range)

-3X +2+9/(whatever the factor was)

9/2ln3-69/2

CosX=1/5

(2,0,-1)

C = (8,-18,-31)
D = (-4,18,29)

The C3 paper was harder than all the past papers so i'd expect the grade boundaries to be lower.
I think you might just get the A*, but only by a mark or two.
How did you do the vectors question? I ended up with an answer and it worked in the equation (as in AC was 3x whatever it was) but I got a different answer to you guys and my method was strange so it's probably wrong

Differentiating it implicitly

2sec^2ϴ * (dϴ/dx) = 3

(dϴ/dx) = 3/(2sec^2ϴ)
= 3/(2(1+tan^2ϴ))
= 3/(2+2tan^2ϴ)
= 6/(4+4tan^2ϴ)

And from the question tanϴ=3x/2
Therefore tan^2ϴ = 9x^2/4
Putting this into (dϴ/dx) gives

(dϴ/dx) = 6/(4+4(9x^2/4))
= 6/4+9x^2 as required


Ok, so I think I would have 2 method marks luckily

Glad to have been proven wrong.

Everything was very standard until question 7 imo. The vector geometry question had a strange arrangement but the difficulty was the same as every other recent vector geometry questions.

Question 7 algebra was slightly more involved than usual but nothing out of ordinary.

Question 8 would've been very difficult for non fp2 students had they not told us to rearrange the tan^-1(3x/2), but they pointed us towards the right direction so it was doable. The following differential equation was not the simplest one ever but at least it did not involve double parts like that C3.

I expect very average gb

I got the same as you there, for the integration, I double checked the solution on my calculator, it was correct, I'm sure :-)

A 10g sample of radioactive vanadium decayed to 8.106g after 100 days

8.106 = 10k^100

k = 0.997902

0.5=0.997902^t

(log0.5/log0.997902) = 330 days.
