The answer won't be an exact integer, you have your answer in final form already, the (7√9)^2 is correct.

I FINALLY GET THIS!!!
Just one day of revision left. :biggrin:

I'll probably do surds tomorrow and basic revision :smile: eg volume of stuff, surface area.. and FRACTIONAL INDICES!

You can but schools are less likely to allow it nowadays since only the first attempt grade is used in league tables.

I did foundation paper in year 9 and then higher in year 10 and my classmates had a 3rd and 4th attempt in Jan and June year 11 so I guess we were lucky

My notation is the cubic root of 8, while you wrote 3 root 8

you can't really do anything else to that since ^4√18 isn't a whole number.

Surds are different to this (while similar) Usually surd questions won't have an exact answer. But surds to fractional powers get a little tricky when you are making the questions yourself.
See the last question you did the 16/18 to the power of -3/4. My answer was in final form (^4√18 )^3)/8. You'd never get that in an exam, the numbers would always simplify further.
