How did you figure out that the triangle 1 has the same angles as the triangle 2?

erm well I actually used a lot of rules all at once so I guess I was thinking;
Angles on a straight line = 180
Internal angle in the rectangle = 90
Angles in a right angle triangle (apart from the right angle) combine to make 90
The second pic shows my working
