Why is Game of Thrones so popular?

Okay, hear me out peeps. :redface:

I spent 2 years of my 6th form life hearing about people talking about GOT and how unbelievably amazing it is. After hearing all this hype surrounding it, I planned to watch it last summer. I didn't get around to watching it but I have today since my exams have finished.

Okay, so I have only watched one episode so far so I haven't given it a proper chance, but I have picked up quite a bit of knowledge on GOT by watching scenes on youtube.

anddddd I don't like it. I mean, I think my main issue is the constant rape, incest and nudity which puts me off. It's a bit much all in one go.

It's a really odd series. It has made me wonder what the books are like. :s-smilie:

So help me understand why GOT is supposedly so amazing?

It certainly gets better if you give a few more episodes a try. By the end of the 1st season, you'll be left wanting more! I wish I was in your position so I could binge watch everything from the start!

That was just me but it definietly get better in later seasons (like 4 onwards or something?)

Nah, I don't even watch it, I prefer things with a bit more substance and storylines like The best of Pornhub Volume 2
It stops after season 2, which is when the show gets MUCH better.

Season 1 is pretty good, but its not as good if its the first time watching and you have no idea whats going on.

I think you should give a few more episodes a try. I did that and ended up watching it all although I still wouldn't say it's my favourite show. I prefer more realistic and less confusing things but it's still worth giving another chance.

I found it really good. Lol I skipped quite a lot of season 1 and 2 but after that, it's really really good.
There's less nudity later on.

I think I don't like to see nudity when I'm not expecting to see nudity. :s-smilie:

I don't mind pornhub for nudity because I EXPECT it. :redface: (Yes I know you were being sarcastic but you raised some thoughts my brain XD)


But GOT disturbs me because of the type of nudity. I didn't understand the rape scenes either :s-smilie:, it's all so confusing!
I know someone who watched episode 1 with her dad, now she's completely put off it.
But yes, the nudity scenes are much less frequent after season 2.

You need to watch at least 5-6 episodes to get into it. I certainly didn't like the first few episodes.
It gets a lot better. Season 2, 3, 4 are the best.
The nudity, incest, rape stuff makes it realistic. Just skip ahead if you can't handle it.
