Masses of the particles in the collision are different[1], because the moving electron is experiencing relativistic effects due to travelling close to c [1].

Anyone been memorizing mark schemes for the written questions? Which ones?

So far I've only done the Rutherford Geiger Marsden ones and the cyclotron/linac/detector questions

you should memorise EM induction, they always ask for the same thing
Good luck to everyone sitting this exam tomorrow! #LetsGetIt :moon:

How did you guys find it?
I thought it was a really easy paper!
Lovely exam in my opinion! Plenty of time and none of the questions weren't achievable
How was it And what answers did everyone get?
16.6% as a maximum amount of decrease in charge?

That exam was honestly beautiful. Made a few silly mistakes here and there :s-smilie: however overall was fine.
I expect grade boundaries to be quite high, and 6PH05 might be relatively harder.
i got 33.3%, what did everyone put for the conservation of charge question in the particle detector q?

What did you guys get for the radius of the bike? I got 20 point something meters, I feel as if this value is too large, but I'm unsure
Reply 32
**** i got 83% for percentage decrease in charge :frown:

That moment when you write "the hydrogen ion has no charge".... hydrogen ION has no charge fml 😂
Yeah it was a good paper

i got 7m sth
I got 16.7% for the percentage charge decrease question.

20.4m for the radius of the path of the bike.
2.09ms^-1 for speed of bike.

Some multiple choice answers I remember:

1. Something to do with magnetic field causing circular motion
Area under graph = change in momentum
1/root(6)
Half charge on one of particles
Anti-up Down
0.024N
(edited 7 years ago)
I got 67% i think!
