It does seem that 'The Internet' topics didn't really come up last year? Only came up in the form of FTP, so that could potentially be on section B or there could be a lot of questions on this, what do you think?

This seems likely, however if moral, ethical and social issues come up I think it'll be more effective me walking out of the exam at that point !!

Section B I'm literally focusing on Databases. I haven't revised any other questions for Section B. You can't go wrong.

I'm fine with the topics
Internet
Networks
HCI
MIS
MOC
etc etc

I just really hate Security Policies

I find that the other questions in Section B (not databases) are just topics that would come up in Section A with a few questions which I have revised alone, the databases just seem to be a pain to learn.

I pray that distributed computing comes up I adore that question, and code of conduct

I think moral, social and ethical would come up in section B if it did, so if you've done enough work on databases you'll be fine!

Yeah that sounds like a plan, I always found doing the longer questions easier to do over the database questions, but that's just me! All the security policy stuff is bs, but there was a lot of that on last years paper, so we can only pray!

For code of conduct, I remember RRHAP. Responsibility, Respect, Hardware/Soft, Abide, Permission

Damn really? What uni are you going to?!
I've been revising for weeks and yet I can't remember a damn thing, they all blend into one! I'm terrified that once I get in the exam and a question asks for 4 advantages/disadvantages I'll only be able to remember 2! :frown:

BirmC, the thing is I don't even need an A* in ICT, it's just that my college screwed me over in business, which means I need to scrape up my UCAS tarrifs with ICT

Go back to that question afterwards! Again, you've just gotta stay calm and you'll be good!

Moral-
Deliberately setting up websites containing incorrect information people may rely on this information thinking it is correct.
-Bullying In chat rooms, by email, in blogs, by text messages
-Inappropriate websites People are able to view inappropriate material such as pornography, racism, violent videos.
-Using e-mail to give bad news –whereas face to face would be better/fired or demotion
-Spreading rumours-Using photo editing to distort reality
Social
-Privacy issues social networking sites
-Gambling addictions easy to gamble online
-Obesity Less active sitting down
-Addiction to computer games schoolwork can suffer as a result
-Widens the gaps between the have and not Internet access widens the gap between rich and poor countries and individuals
-Organisations move call centres abroad
-Growth of e-commerce may mean shops have to close
Ethical
-Plagiarism copying material
-Sending spam
-Companies monitoring staff use of the Internet and e-mail even reading personal emails
-Using someone’s wireless Internet connection without permission
Expand on all of these points with examples, just make them up! Put it into an essay structure and you'll be good to go!

Why they need a security policy:
The DPA puts an onus on the council / agency to secure this information because of its potential of misuse

I have revised these four:
Physical Security
Logical Methods
Operational Procedures
Personnel Administration

PSLMOPPA ???? Hahaha I'm not sure

With 2h 30mins, one could literally plan and scribble answer / factors on the question paper, and then answer it in full in about 1 hour. You could leave a gap and then skip to the next question, perhaps by luck you might suddenly remember the stuff that you have missed out.

Write out the answers of questions that you are uncomfortable with now as it would sometimes help. Thats what I wanted to do this evening lol but I've just done an exam this afternoon where I had to write out my 3000 word essay in 1h40m and my hand is really sore at the moment..
