As much as i dislike Ukip and a lot of Kippers i actually feel Carswell is a decent and honest politician not motivated by leadership ambition. I rather think that he bought into the nonsense that Ukip was a libertarian party based around direct democracy when in reality it's a socially conservative party in libertarian clothes.
