It's the world's largest trading block. It also provides massive security benefits and basically enabled Britain to do the majority of its trade.

Surely Britain can still trade with European countries - just because it isn't part of the EU doesn't mean it can't trade with countries in it.

It definitely can - and probably will. Just depends on what kind of deal we get with the EU now. If we keep access to the single market though in a similar way to say, Switzerland or Norway, we'll still have to pay a fee and conform to regulations but with no say in it all (which defeats a lot of the leave campaigns points so :/) . If we strike up a different deal, then it'll be expensive, and we'd best hope we can quickly get good deals with other nations to make up for whatever the EU throws at us.

45% is not a majority. Its our single largest market, but to suggest that we do most of our trade with the EU is wrong.
And we can still trade with the EU, as free trade is as much in our interests as it is in theirs, so to suggest that we will get hit with tariffs and the like is somewhat absurd

Sorry, very very poorly phrased on my behalf. It is Britain's largest trading partner, and Britain trades more with the EU than with anyone else.

The second point depends by what you see as the EU's interests. It would be madness to suggest the two would ever stop trading completely. However, if the EU is trying to stop Britain from setting a precedent by leaving, they won't be at all forgiving. But yes, otherwise, carrying on with EU-British trade is still in the EU's interests... but it's far more in ours.
