Sorry to invade

The Oxford thread is dead, as always.

Anyone else endlessly analysing exams and seriously worried about missing their offer? This is killing me.

Tell me about it.

My last exam went awful as well (there's always one exam) so there's a huge dent in my confidence, making me doubt my performance in other exams

I always I should've applied to Oxford, simply because they have lower requirements for my subject :colone:

Ha yeah that's partly why I applied there...no A*s needed. And Cam doesn't do my course anyway.

Exactly same here, mine started off well, then seemed to finish with two disasters in economics. Pretty much what's keeping me going is that I hated how I did in interviews, and in some exams last year, and that all turned out fine. Like you say, there's always one or two that really play in your mind.

But seriously, some of the crap I wrote in that last exam makes me cringe, no matter how positive I try and be.

Which course did you go for?

Hopefully it does all turn out fine

History and Politics...you?

Well, I'm going to try and go back to what used to be my hobbies... Maybe even make a small business out of them :teehee:

What is a hobby?

What is this business idea? Is it your gardening hobby?

I think we all need a break after almost 14(?) years of education :yep:

Studying your subject for a hobby is very different to learning it to pass exams, which is what we have been doing for the past 12-13 (I can't count) years. Learning IA maths (at a relaxed pace) sounds like a welcome break from A-level maths, because A-level maths is so restrictive

I believe it is called 'Maths' in your language

I've collected many tiny jars from my baby brother's meals and I'm going to see what I can do with those :yep: (I'm thinking candles)
I've also got loads of spare and interesting fabrics lying around that may need a creative touch

Ah, yeah I get what you mean. I just don't want to go anywhere near 'studying' for a while. I'll still keep an eye out for science stories in the news though!

How was physics everyone?

So when is this ASoM /Ia thread being made? (if it hasnt already)

Im still only on bail cus i gotta go back to school tonight for some graduation thing
And so the wait begins. 7 weeks and 2 days until results day

I'm one of those people who are bored if they are not learning things so I'm going to see what Coursera and edX have on offer. I want to do some chemistry/thermodynamics over the summer so that if by some miracle Cam still want me, I might be better prepared for potentially doing IA chem.

We are all on a long leash until results day.
One of my maths teachers just gave me a fat book on the history of mathematics to keep me busy. Nice gesture.

Perfectly understandable

This Physics paper went much better than the last one (largely because I actually squeezed some revision in after STEP)... definitely an A (but not an A*)

How about you?
(edited 7 years ago)
There is a chance I may get A*B in Physics and AFM.
Weird.

Yea, very true. Hopefully we get what we deserve anyway. If im honest id prefer doing something that would help me get in like a few more maths exams than wait.
