Why do people do this?

This girl complimented man on his look in my suit, so I got overly confident and slyly said "man knows this already, tell me something I don't know ygm".:smug:.

But soon as I said that, her facial expression turned sour, man got a hard slap from her face, as if man had released a smelly fart. It was intense, so man moved from that awkward convo swiftly because it was then I knew I had made a big error.

But why is arrogance such a turn off? If you compliment man, how can you expect man not to accept this and embrace it, like it makes no sense to man like me.

Man is generally baffled!!!

You should be asking: Why does man refer to man in the third person?

Why are you typing like your parents are related?

I am from South London, so this is how all youths speak out here.

So speaking in this lingo is second nature to me.

You already knew.
I am also terribly baffled by this! I understand what you mean! People say I can be arrogant but I'm just happy with myself!

Confidence =/= Arrogance. You obviously acted arrogant instead of confident. The difference is small but important.

Why do I have to say "thank you", for something man already knows?

To be polite and why are you continually referring to yourself as 'man', its strange.
