Of course it does; it's associated in the public (and international) consciousness with wealth, power, etc. I remember studying accents in English lessons - apparently it's wholly psychological. If the ruling class spoke with what we currently class as a harsh/crude accent, then that would be thought of in exactly the same way as RP is now. Food for thought. :K:

It was definitely for physical appearance cos there was another box for that, got an A for body language cos i didn't fidget for once in my life but..
