I don't get why people think open relationships are so weird? I think they should be the future tbh. It's really common for people to have several friends, so why not have several lovers, and a main one that you are closest to (like a best friend out of a group of friends)? I would ideally want an open relationship, because to me if you truly love someone you don't restrict their freedom because of your own selfishness. Loads of people cheat on their partners and tbh I think a big contributing factor to this is the fact it isn't something they should be doing, it's a taboo. I think giving someone freedom actually brings them closer to you as well, and since they can get a taste of what another relationship with a different person might be like they won't get that feeling that 'the grass is aalways greener'. Also, if a person has total freedom and can easily get into a new long-term relationship and yet still chooses to be with you long-term, then doesn't that show that they care for you on a much deeper emotional level? Is that not love?
