When do you meet the parents?

In your own opinion, how long would you have to be dating someone until you decide to meet their parents?

For like a year or more, I'd say

Or more? Do you not think that's quite a while? If you wait a year or more would you let your partner at least tell their parents about you?
For a relationship 4-6 months is about right. For dating specifically idk..

Of course. She could tell her parents at any time. :yep:

I think it might be better if it's for longer than a few months but (on reflection) not necessarily more than a year.

I'm in this position right now. We're almost 4 months together, I think some point in August or late June.

Yeah same here haha. I've met his sister, but only because they live together. Parents are another level so I'm just curious how early some people would do it.

Honestly, do what you feel is appropriate.

I still live with my parents and he lives with his granddad, visits parents here and there. They know about us being together, so at least they know of my existence. So, meeting them is inevitable.

Good luck!
I'm so nervous. omg.

My worst fear is it breaking off and then having to reintroduce someone all over again in the future.

9 months =< x < 2 years
Well it wont be good if you are in relationship and a third person tell your parents about your relationship  your parents wouldn't like it! I would say, if you think you are completely ready to accept each other which takes time then tell your parents :cute: or id your parents are understanding unlike mines then tell them within a month so they know whats going on

But there are some people who are well close and then get engaged and the folks never even met them before
I think I might do it this way, it's no one's business who I see. I'm not attached to the hip to my folks so it's no issue if they're racist or not, because it's not up to them who I date :erm: lol Now if it's like a holiday dinner or something or a family bbq (both occasional) my gf honestly doesn't have to come around. It's just a dinner.

Anyone I've dated I've met their kids if they have, their family, best mates, because we normally domesticate like live together. I'll be encountering and meeting whoever comes by to see her. As for me, my family doesn't visit me because I dont want them to, like I visit them when I want and it's not necessary to drag my girl along like a chaperone or escort.

Surely ppl with closer families would probably be all giddy to show how much they've grown up and bring their partner along but eh not me.

This seems to strictly be advice for children or people overly dependent on their folks.

So you don't care about your parents :K:
Childhood = 4 - 10 :cute:
If stable at 4 ish months, I think that's an appropriate time

5 months
My Mum won't probably meet till my wedding day smh.
Usually between 2 and 6 months, depends on much of the context, i.e. are any of you in their domestic country.
