1. How brutal was this week?

2. What does it feel like to be back at the desk a year later?

it's in line with gat you'd expect for front office interns across the major banks, Google should provide a good indication

What are the new interns like? Any people you recognize from last year?

How would you explain what you do to people who think all bankers (not me ofc, that'd be hypocritical lol) are evil?

yeah well most the first year interns and Spring weekers are there so many familiar face. everyone's cool, sharp people.

quite simply: intermediary between people who have capital and people who need capital. its the same basic concept with any type of bank. my area specialises in giving advice to corporates on how best to acquire other companies or sell their company for strategic or to achieve financial objectives.

Which uni do you go if you mind me asking? No worries if youre not comfortable saying it online! Or is it a target/ semi target?

Whats your favourite part of the job?
Recommendation for those applying for next summer's IBD internships?
Do you ever have to work on weekends?

Do the full time analysts treat interns with respect or do they just pile work on you like you're a monkey? Do you get shouted at?

Thanks for doing the AMA

What a levels did you do?
What process did you have to go through to get the internship? How would you try and secure yourself an internship other than filling out online applications?
I am doing a physics degree, would i still be competitive applying with a physics degree?
What are the routes into finance, other than an internship?

Thanks.

Perf explanation

So will you be in the same team throughout the internship? What's the atmosphere like now that Brexit has been announced? Are the analysts and above worried?

What was the last food you ordered for dinner? How much downtime would you normally get across such a long work day?

working weekends now, given the deliverables I'll be in today and tomorrow but hey I'm going on a date in 30 mins

the analysts are my friends, everyone's cool here, have a laugh, go for drinks and what not so it's pretty good

online application > tests > interviews etc..

that's the only way really given all the HR procedures unless you networked your way into a smaller firm

a lot seem to think we aren't leaving the EU and it's just a political play

ordered a pizza last night and ate at desk, so far had no downtime and been kept quite busy so in the days ahead I may give you an indication

True, we're still in the EU for now. Gonna have to wait to see what the future holds.
