Breaking news, overwatch ranked is a steaming pile of horseshit

At least LoL has basic rules of how the game operates, but this.... it's just garbage

Matches can really depend in length, 30-40 minute will happen in cases like payload being capped in both matches and then going into sudden death.
Anyone wanna play Overwatch on PS4 sometime.
Who are all your 5 favourite and most hated heroes to play as?

Mine:

Favourites:
Winston (hated until competitive, so good as a harasser and I will play him to death on offensive if I'm not in the mood for healing)
Roadhog
Lucio
Mercy
D.Va

Hated:
Soldier 76
Hanzo (can't aim for **** even with his hitbox)
Tracer (rarely find myself being better as her than in other flankers)
Reaper
Symmetra

Matches are too uncoordinated, games such as LoL have tried and true team compositions, positions and responsibilities, people have an overview of the arena, and can type more easily. Overwatch has none of those things - without voice comms and a premade team it's just a cluster**** and you can barely influence the outcome of the match.

As you cannot 'power up' you can't carry a game in the same way you can in a MOBA so you're far more vulnerable to incompetent teammates.

Since people can pick whatever heroes they like the bad players all pick soft damage classes, so the experienced (and naturally more mechanically skilled players) are forced to pick tanks and healers and pray their teammates can aim, or also roll damage classes and watch their team get stomped by any vaguely coordinated defense.

Basically if you're not in a premade team of 6 you are merely rolling the dice as to whether you win or lose, since everything is a team-fight and therefore its more important to bring numbers to bear than to have specific skill for 1-on-1 scenarios. The best sniper specialist will still be useless if the rest of the team refuses to pick a class that removes the reinhardt blocking all their shots.

Actually completely agree with this. Out of my first 15 matches about 5 were wins as people would go random heroes forcing me to support and then they would ALL run off ahead of a payload or run in one at a time.

With people I've played with that I enjoy playing with I add and form groups with regularly. It is so much more fun playing with these guys that I group with since it isn't an uncoordinated mess and if we lose its much better than with randoms who cause it to be a cluster**** and make you just get pissed off. Also playing with bad ransoms also keeps you with them a lot because of ranking.

First day I had a third win rate but with some of the people I group with its gone up to 46%.

Can actually have more complicated strategies like doing double winston sweeps on Gibraltar or *cough* scumbag 4 D.va rush on King's row. Always try and add people you enjoyed playing with who (even if you lost) played well with you.

Can only recount one game which one person carried where a tracer teared apart the enemy team and had 71% elimination contribution.

But yeah before I grouped with some people it was hellish to play at times. Also you can get those ***** who don't even play competively and if you try to give commands they will reply in some annoying voice like "come on guys play better".

The issue exists in quick play but obviously that ain't competitive mode and I just abandoned teams who annoyed me (not to say a losing team but a team that is so irritatingly uncoordinated, unbalanced and has members who play their single fav character even though it has no use in the mode).

I disagree. Sure, there aren't as many tried and true metas as there are for a LoL but what do you expect from a game a few months old?

You can change characters at any time, so even if you make bad picks you can easily come back.

Not to mention I've seen some disgusting success with things like 6x reaper, 6x soldier, 6x torb etc.

Favourite:

Zarya
Tracer
Lucio
Zenyatta
Mei (Bae.)

Hated:

Genji (Suck with him.)
Hanzo (Can't stand him.)
McCree (Suck with him.)
Junkrat (Delete him from the game, please. Cancer.)
Bastion (Boring to play.)

I'd say the only heroes I actively dislike are Junkrat and Hanzo. Junkrat is everything I hate about shooters. Overpowered grenade spam and abilities that are just pure ********. He is also a popular pick for randoms. Hanzo annoys me, because every random seems to instalock him. They also seem to do nothing during the game. Just seeing his face on the character select screen pisses me off.

Either way, this game is great and I play it for hours almost every day. I haven't tried competitive yet. I refuse to play that with randoms.

Yea, especially when you don't communicate you have people solo rushing the point and dying instantly. I try to tell my team to group up but they never listen.

Its weird... but games have returned to their somewhat coordinated selves AFTER I tanked the first 4 games... maybe it's just because everyone is getting thrown in at the middle elo tier so theres a mix of total idiots and veterans. Now I'm around 35-45 we're actually seeing team comps again

I am much more objective focused than kill focused, so like to control area of effect characters to ensure that I can control the objective.

I dislike Hanzo a lot because it is such a boring spam character. Stand as far away as possible and spam until you get ultimate. So boring. *

Some games have become better, I was placed at 51 after my placer matches and recently the 45 people are doing better than the people who got 51 after placer matches, probably over time the bad team players will be pushed lower so the worst are lower and over time the slightly less bad people will be pushed lower.

In my early competitive matches I would have to go lucio because people would just not pick healer. This was bad on payload maps because around 4-5 people in the team would charge off ahead and since I was staying on the payload I wasn't healing people (and I then got called noob for not healing even though I was the only guy on the payload). Normally if there was someone else on the payload with me it would be the main tank but that meant the others died a lot more quickly.

Also thumbs up to D.Va fans XD. Apparently there is a buff teased for her yet full D.Va rush is a ridiculous strat (there is offensive **** talking in the type chat):

D.Va rush on Volskaya Industries is the best. Three D.Va's and a Lucio go left. A tank and an offence character go the normal route to keep the enemy occupied. It works almost every time.

Also works with 4 D.Va and 2 lucio on Kings row. Pretty much the enemy can't properly prepare for a all d.va rush since they assume an all round scenario. Literally 2 deal with whats in the centre of the main door by the bus with a lucio and the rest go up the stairs to the right to take out a bastion or widow etc up there then come down to flank. This was with complete randoms and I was the only guy who mic spoke and me and 2 d'va's survived the entire game as the d.va's would fight in pairs atleast and hound people together.

What I also like with d.va rushing is because its so good the other team tries to do it and you can easily counter it. When we did it on Volskaya when it came to us defending one person went mei and made them all suicide into the water XD.

It doesn't work so well on the other city map with the payload after the cap (forgotten its name) since you spend so long getting to the base and each route is easily protected and the enemy by the time you get to the cap knows what is going on.
D.Va and Lúcio are the best :ahee:

Hate how its such a mixed bag the system that other players can ruin your level. I will go up to 49/50 and then get a losing streak down to 45-47 and then a winning streak etc.
