Jeremy Corbyn - Student Opinions

I'm an extreme Corbynite. With all this rhetoric in the news about his 'waning' support, I want to see what young people over her on TSR think. What do you guys think about him? Never liked him? Stopped liking him? Always liked him? Started liking him? I want to hear your opinions below. Be as detailed or as vague as you'd like!

I know very little about him, he seems to be a true left wing politician. However, the labour party is not a true left wing party. They are left wing compared to the conservatives but not compared to the Greens.

I liked him before he was leader of Labour but now he just seems to be causing a divide in the Labour party which puts the Conservatives further ahead. I'd like to see a more united Labour, but we won't see a left wing united one.

I'm thinking split Labour into two parties, then the views of all members are represented better and we can go for a many party system as opposed to the 2 party game we have now.
I think he is a good dude but totally incompetent and ineffective as leader of the opposition. But then again, I didn't like Tony Blair, Gordon Brown or Ed Miliband either, so maybe Labour is just cursed.

He's fairly principled and I respect that, but his views are too far left for the current political climate.

Also his complete lack of effort in the EU-Referendum at all plus his failure to keep the party together has made me sway my opinion even more on him.
I think he would be good for a proper socialist party, but I don't think labour is that. Personally, I don't like him though.
He's actually exactly what we need, if only he was a bit more charismatic.

He's a principled, decent man, who has been on the right side of history. His £8.95 expenses claims should be on every Labour billboard and he should be viewed as a man of the people but he's not.

I think its a sad reflection on politics and the voting public. That they prefer an interesting sound bite (that may be a total lie) over evidence. While the Right Wing media have so much influence, politics will follow. Sanders and Corbyn, should both have succeeded would have reset politics, either confirmed socialism as a failure (or returned confirming socialism as the workers economy) and we could have seen socialism properly be seen as a legitimate political mainstream view.

Tragically, outdone by Hillary's money and the self-serving PLP hypocrites, neither will happen.

I find it frustrating that being quiet, humble and honest makes you unelectable.

Woefully incompetent leader - who doesn't agree with his own party - who cannot possibly ever win an election and is going to leave the country without a credible opposition party.
A damn good leader, and I'll support him in upcoming elections.

I haven't heard any genuine criticism nor cause for concern from the man, only conjecture from others wanting to pull him down and continue to destroy the Labour party - since when were honesty, morals, claims upon facts and figures reasons for poor leadership?

He was certainly the right man for the party in the last leadership election, he hasn't changed only those around him who are uneasy to return to a left wing party with genuine opposition.

Have a look, has anyone cited real criticism for not wanting him as a leader, you only hear of what other MPs are claiming, has he himself caused you any worry?
Why do people and MP's want Corbyn out? I read something about it being because he is against the establishment due to him having anti austerity policies. I also read that he is hated because he wants to "give wealth back to the poor". Maybe I am reading propaganda.

Here we can see him commuting on the bus, rather than driving a fancy car. Humble lad.

Eating Kebab with a roadman! Very relatable
I think that Jeremy Corbyn is basically a mad man. If he ever gets into power he will destroy this country.
Personally I support the conservatives but labour need a leader who is not mentally ill.
David Cameron stepped down, Nigel Farage has stepped down, Natalie Bennett is stepping down.

Now we just need to get rid of Jeremy Corbyn and Tim farrow and we will have a whole new political leadership accross the country.

Andrea leadsom for PM
Reason Jeremy Corbyn is mentally ill.

-want to get rid of our nuclear deterrent.
-doesn't support our British army
-Wants to destroy our economy
-hired the Greek finance minister as an advisor (things are great in Greece right)

Lmao, good leaders don't divide their party and run it into the ground

This is also my opinion.

Andrea Leadsom for PM!!!

Tim Farrow is my pet hate though... I'd much rather see that weasel thrown out of politics than JC.
He's not a credible candidate to lead the country and needs to quit for Labour to have any chance of getting rid of the Tories.

A damn good leader

He couldn't lead himself out of a cul de sac. There's no definition of leader that he fulfills. It's not a title, it's a role. And one he can't perform.

Because he doesn't stand a chance in hell of winning a general.

1) I am not going to turn this into a nuclear debate but there are many arguments both ways for and against trident
2) He does, he simply doesn't support the actions of the army in recent times such as the action in Iraq
3) No, he wants to reform the economy, that is very different
4) He hired the Greek finance minister who only became the Greek finance minister after the economy hit rock bottom, the same finance minister who put together a plan for Greece which was rejected by the EU who went ahead and undermined the democratic mandate of the new Greek Government. This said Greek finance minister is actually a highly respected individual.

Uh good leaders allow their MPs to vote freely on all matters without having to toe the party line, just as Corbyn has allowed his MPs to vote.

If MPs wish to resign from the role then it is of their own doing, the coup was always going to happen, it was called as soon as he was elected leader by the Labour members - not MPs, but elected by the ordinary voters who have a paid membership of the party.

Whether you agree or disagree with him, he has integrity.

Perform? How so? You'll have to elaborate.. On the basis of the man's own actions not of the actions of other MPs or conjecture, he was elected by the Labour membership and he still stands for those same members.
Absolute idiot. wouldn't let him run a fish and chip shop.

And just because someone takes public transport does not make him any better or worse of a politician
The Labour MP's also recognise that they were voted in by millions of people not a few hundred thousand students and middle-aged socialists.
