What should happen is Blair should be tried by the ICC. The war was undoubtedly illegal under international law, neither being in self-defence or authorized by the UN Security Council.

It is only fair that Western leaders should be held accountable for their actions just as leaders of non-western nations.

Blair and Bush pushed a war in clear violation of international law. Their legal justification which has been hugely discredited was that a SC Resolution referring to the war between Iraq and Kuwait ten years earlier still applied.

Today Blair has come out today and reiterated the point that the Attorney General said it was legal. Yet there are two issues here. Firstly the initial Attorney General resigned because she viewed the war as illegal and the one who said it was legal, initially said it was illegal and suddenly 'changed his mind' when they war became inevitable.
Secondly, the Attorney General cannot confer legality on an illegal act.

What will happen is nothing because the ICC is heavily politicized.
