Which gender is under more pressure nowadays?

What about boobs then? I suppose you'll say you can save up for a tit job within a year as well

That's bs, You aren't doing a fair comparison there, the type of male physique you are talking about is a body builder type body. If you are going to use the maximum physique for a male you should compare that with the maximal ideal physique of a woman. Which has been defined on here and in the media as big tits/ arse/ tiny waist/ slim legs with a thight gap. Most people who work out also have chunky thighs.

Plus no one even expects males to look like body builders. Most girls don't even like that. What most girls like is a healthy body, with a little muscle. It's just as easy for males to tone up a bit and add the same muscle definition. In fact even easier because males are naturally more muscular than women, have lower body fat etc. So why do you think it's easy for a woman to add a load of muscle to her arse, but not for a man to add muscle?

If you posted a poll on TSR asking girls whether they consider a six pack as a deciding factor in a partner, most would say no. If you posted a poll asking the guys if they consider a big arse/ boobs a deciding factor in a partner, a hell of a lot would say yes.

The only time I think males have it bad, and this actually slipped my mind until a previous person mentioned it to me, is their height. If you're short, I do see how it can make life hard. But by short I mean below 5 ft 6, I know lots of good lookin guys who are 5 ft 6/7. As long as you're taller than the girl there's very rarely a problem, and for most guys that's not hard to achieve considering the average female height is 5 ft 4.

But I do so how height can add some pressure and frustration, even insecurity to some males. I concede that, but I completely disagree with what you're saying in terms of guy having to look like some body builder.

No I left that out because that can't be obtained naturally, most guys don't even care about big tits either.

And I can tell you never go to the gym, because if you did you would understand how hard it is to become muscular as a guy. The reason I say it is easier for a girl is because they just have to do some cardio with squats here and there and you will have a good body in no time

I can also tell you that girls do love aesthetic bodies, to say they don't is bs. I'm not talking about people's hi compete like Arnie (all on steriods btw), I'm talking about people like Connor Murphy

How much girls really expect a guy to be 6' though. Personally I rather guys a bit shorter, like 5 ft 7/8.

I don't expect at all girls to be thin with big ass and tits. If we're making this personal, I don't care about her weight as long as she's comfortable with it. But I do want to like her face so cute faces are <3. Other than that, I don't care for big tits. I do like bums but not necessarily big or the thin+big ass combination that you mentioned.

This is about, I thought, societal expectations not necessarily mine or yours (also, I dunno how many girls expect guys to be 6' but 90% of girls mention "tall" in their requirements and tall for men is 6'+). Men are expected to be tall, broad, muscular and lean. The combination is impossible for most guys.

BTW I do agree girls are more pressured when it comes to looks. Guys are pressured differently (not to admit that they're hurt or have feelings because then we're weak), mostly not with looks.
Imo, men. The number of men who have become exposed and have started to use steroids has increased almost exponentially. Whilst women do face a similar pressure, the actions they take to conform to societal pressures are FAR less invasive and potentially damaging than injecting testosterone, testosterone derivatives and other PEDs (e.g. diuretics). There is also FAR less support for men who face these societal pressures compared to women. Steroids are FAR easier to acquire and far cheaper compared to equally as impactful changes that women undergo (i.e. breast implants/ botox). The reasons why men suffer more pressure than any other gender is certainly not exhaustive, imo.

One of my best friends competes in body building competitions, apart from the strict dieting he really doesn't have to work out that much. Obviously he works out but not the extent where it interferes with his life in anyway. The main pain is the diet. And he uses no enhancing drugs, and has won competitions which allow such use.

Do you actually think that a bit of cardio and squats will give a girl a big arse? You do realise that is complete bs right? Yes it might give a firmer, tighter shape, but it takes a lot to add significant muscle mass to turn a small arse into a big one. One of my friends weight lifts and over the course of two years, she has a big arse yes. But she also has big bulky thighs, to achieve a big arse and maintain dainty slim legs is impossible. Unless you have the natural shape for it, most white girls don't.

Also, you left out big tits because it goes against your point. Precisely, it is impossible to achieve bigger boobs without surgery, you shouldn't ignore that, you should concede as I did with male height.

As a side note....
I find it hilarious how clueless you guys are to what girls want.

You yourselves obsess over these body builders such as that Connor Murphy (who I had to just google), and no matter how many times girls tell you they don't really like it, you just don't listen. I find that kind of body borderline repulsive tbh. I bet the majority of his admirers are males aspiring to be like him, not girls. You guys really think girls want one thing when we want the othher. Only a minority of girls find that attractive. Honestly go ahead, make a poll on TSR but try not to use leading questions because it's really obvious.

Of course most of the girls on TSR wouldn't like that body, because they are like you. Left wing socialists who don't shave their armpit hair

Definitely agree with the last part here. When I first read this thread I assumed people would say that girls have more pressure when it comes to their appearance and boys have more pressure to behave a certain way. Like you say, guys are often afraid to show their feelings in fear of being weak which really makes me sad.

I suppose when reading this thread, I am starting to realise the pressure guys feels towards their looks. It's never dawned on me because as a girl I know what I like a guy to look like, and it is not the body builder, 6' tall, super lean type. And my opinion is shared with many other girls. So I just assumed that guys must surely notice that a lot of girls aren't bothered by body builder muscles, and so must feel less pressure. But I think you guys are fed pressures through the media as well, to look a certain way. But it's less obvious for a girl to notice this because it's less in the main stream media, but clearly it is there.

I honestly think most girls do not care about guys having amazing bodies though. Similar to you actually, I'd much rather he have a nice face and an ordinary, normal body. As long as he's in the healthy range I'm happy.

Maybe that's just my experience though, maybe a lot of girls on here would say different :dontknow:

Bit harsh.

That's why I think women are under more pressure, we are fed unrealistic, often unobtainable goals. Very few of us can be stick thin with big ass and tits.

Big ass, big boobs, no stretch marks, flat stomach, glowing skin and a thigh gap.

I often look at girls who have all of the above on instagram and wonder whether they get surgery done to look like what I described above.

Yes you right about the height.
What do you think about tall girls? Im 5ft 11 and at times made to feel like a freak. LOL people think my entire life purpose is to model or became a bb player.

Tall girls slayyyyy

Original post by TorpidPhil
See, not only is being short unattractive to the other sex.

But it also loses you respect from the same sex. It means you are smaller, which means you are less physical strong, which is pretty much the basis of male to male respect, alongside intelligence and wealth. Having a third of your potential respect locked into a **** position kind of sucks. Therefore short guys often feel compelled to work out excessively and thus the manlet phenomenon.

Yeah that must be so horrible tbh. With girls, if you're tall you do get teased for being lanky but its nowhere near as bad with men I don't think :/

I wasn't actually referring to the body builder type. Being tall, muscular and having having broad shoulders doesn't mean looking like Arnold. He is not what most guys aspire to look like (though many do). But the classic fitness look which most guys will aspire to is muscular, broad-shouldered, ripped and tall.

Women are third class citizens in countries like the UK, it's disgraceful and we should aspire to be more like our EU counterparts minus the right wing rabble

You want to look at women being third class citizens run off to the Middle East.

I wouldn't say any of that statement holds any truth. I'm neither a socialist nor do I not shave my armpits.

Soz to disappoint if you like that kinda thing though, there's probs some other forums for that **** :hand:

I wouldn't be surprised if they did tbh, or failing that they must be genetic miracles.

@Alextaylor6 seems to suggest there is. Not so much Arnie but some Connor Murphy, aka Ken doll on roids.

Girls cake themselves with makeup so much nowadays too.

There's this one girl I used to follow on instagram and she was a model for some reasonably well known clothing line. She had the face with all the big eyes and Kylie Jenner lips, big boobs, the slim waist, the thigh gap, the Kim K ass and the flat stomach with no bodily imperfections. Later on, I looked at her features more closely than before and she wears pushup bras most of the time and it honestly looks her ass was done even though she's only two years older than I am. And as for her face, she literally cakes herself in makeup because when she put up a no makeup selfie with her boyfriend I barely recognised her. She went from a 10 to a 6. It's sad she's a victim to the Western beauty standards tbh.

What's her name? I'm curious now :colone:

I know that's so true. Photos can hide so many sins tbh. You can apply makeup so heavily now and it will look great in a photo, and ridiculous in real life. I was reading about contouring before and a professional make up artists was emphasising how it's more for use in photos/ TV and tends to look too over the top in real life, A little bit of contouring is fine, but when it's done heavily I agree it looks awful. But girls see these photos and are in awe of them and so want to follow suit.

And I wouldn't be surprised if she had a small butt implant tbh, those "Brazilian butt lifts" celebs have do look pretty natural

Kylie Jenner just sums up perfectly what you've just described though. In photos I admit she looks amazing but any interviews I've seen of her she looks so fake and old for her age. She already looks like an aging wag. It is sad that so many young girls obsess over her, she's ironed out every 'imperfection' of hers and to me that's not a healthy message at all.

Can't blame her though, the amount of pressie she must have experienced as part of that family. Basically all their mum told them they were good for was their looks.

I take it you have never been to the Middle East? They actually have equal rights if not more. Don't listen to everything you read in the news

Which is exactly why Middle Eastern countries do terrible for gender equality right?
