Well, as your TSR NBA Commissioner I am slightly surprised to announce Dwyane Wade IS moving after all..
..to the Chicago Bulls. This comes from Wojnarowski so it's most definitely true (Wojbomb!). Wade has informed the Bulls he intends on signing with them and they're sending over the contracts to him (Source: https://twitter.com/WojVerticalNBA/status/750863038505418752). RealGM cites it as a 2 year/$47mil deal. NO team he met with offered him a 3 year contract. So I guess a lot of the league has that 'Kobe contract' thing in their mind.
Woj has come out saying it's a 2 year/$47.5mil with Player Option.
I'm not so surprised that he's moved. Players generally have three goals in mind when they're signing for a team, money, rings and loyalty. In my head, Wade has his rings, and he's been loyal to the team who have drafted him. So he's looking for the money now, which is what he has been doing each of the last seasons when he threatens to leave Miami.
I am surprised however, it was Chicago, but eh, hometown and all that so it makes sense.
Edit: Dwight, Horford, KD, Wade, Rose, Rondo, Pau, Mozgov, Noah all moving. What an interesting off season this has been for big name players. Just another pointer that owners/organisations don't need loyalty from players, so players need not be expected the same. NBA is a business after all. Dirk is an exception it seems, but I wouldn't blame him if next season or another after he moves to a top team to chase some money or a ring.
Butler needs to go, either they're rebuilding and Wade and Rondo are proven ring winners with championship pedigree there to guide the youngsters... or they're after a ring themselves. But why get rid of Rose to bring in a 34yo Wade? Bulls FO are the most retarded in the league. And as an avid Rose fan I can tell you they probably have the worst fans too.
Oooo Mike with a new vid, shares my sentiments, nothing 'wrong' with his move. But they've all put a ceiling on their legacies.
Randomly clicked on the Celtics vs 76ers east finals which reminds me, Durant & Curry on the same team is only the second time in NBA history 2 previous MVPs have been on the same team. The last and only other time being Julius Erving and Moses Malone.
edit: i should add to that i mean the last 2 mvps, not mvps in general
I do love Adam Silver. Rewatching when he banned Donald Sterling and he's making me laugh with how blunt/direct he is. 'I expect the owners will comply'.
