yeaaaa... anyways, I'll let you guys know somehow if I made my offer, and I'll most probably keep checking this thread

Just post lots of politically incorrect things in Chat, attack the mods for their moderation, you'll get banned in no time, and not piss everyone off

Why is political incorrectness bannable? Just so it doesn't offend the usual pink-haired, gender studies majoring cucks?

Btw, how is IA going? I haven't been on TSR for a while (finally decided to have a social life) but I am working through Beardon's textbook with the hope that I could finish it by mid-September. I was thinking of being done with it way before that, but I am kind of behind schedule and I really don't want to end up finishing it too early but with a not in-depth understanding. I also got "How to think like a Mathematician" by Houston and "A First Course in Abstract Algebra" by Fraleigh: the former casually reading and the latter hopefully teaching me some rings, fields and Galois theory (doesn't cover linear algebra but goes more in depth of group theory than Beardon, and also teaches Galois theory in second half) after I finish Beardon's.

Why? You get carded because it breaks the (unspoken) community guidelines. Then you get banned for getting too many cards

Lol, I don't think they are pink-haired, gender studies majoring 'cucks'. TSR is a platform to connect students with universities and study-related companies. Its not good for them to be seen to host politically incorrect things

I'm just going through the lecture notes; I'm taking it a little slower than you, probably, since I'm also trying to (re)learn programming languages, and maybe a little German

I think I've got the Houston book; doubt its worth reading if you have done STEP tbh

Oh yeah, I just remembered that you can get cards for 'insulting' people, and that TSR uses them when banning.

Lol, I didn't mean to generalise the whole TSR community to be made up of "pink-haired, gender studies majoring 'cucks'", in every community you get those kinds of 'cucks' who would go SJW on anything that goes against what (social) media tells them to think.

That's pretty good, lecture notes are enough and you can also use the example sheets as practice.

I would disagree with you about Houston's book, although the target audience is not students like us, most of the content is pretty fundamental for undegraduate mathematics, and since I am not taking N&S it would be nice for me to casually read through it. The first and third chapters ("Study skills for mathematics" and "Definitions, theorems and proofs") are also pretty useful for how to read and write undergraduate mathematics. But I get what you are saying, most of the content is quite elementary and probably already known for those taking STEP, which is why I am reading it casually and only those chapters that I am interested in.

Never heard about that, and probably best not to discuss it, but apparently a big way people get banned is by someone going through their post history and mass reporting their old posts, not by the mods. You may be confusing it with this, if you have made enemies...

I didn't think you were, but I don't think the mods are SJWs, its just that it looks bad on TSR hosting politically incorrect things; TSR is an advertising business, after all

Nothing fancy
Samsung Galaxy A3 (16 version)

Well my old one, Moto G 1st Gen, fell flat on the floor and smashed, so anything is an upgrade from it basically
IPhO is not going to go well.

At all.

May as well ask to join the olympic basketball team would probably do better tbh

To inject some positivity into this thread, apparently I am on a shortlist for a £10,000/year bursary from my college, after outstanding academic and interview performance  not entirely sure how or if I'm actually eligible for it but it made my day a bit better :h:

college?
Back from holiday, ready to continue the post exam depression I had before.
I wish the results day was earlier or never came lol

Nice (I have no idea what a fancy phone is)

Never understand why people get 16 GB versions. How can you use all that space?

Lol, I have a history of being clumsy with my phones; I put my last phone in the wash twice
