Eat your heart out Cambridge, YET another Oxford Prime Minister!

Theresa May will be the 27th Oxford educated Prime Minister.

The last educated at Cambridge was Baldwin who left office in 1937. There have been ten Oxonians in Number 10 since then.

Quite some dominance from the oldest University in the English speaking world...

Still won't change people's perspective that Cambridge is better than Oxford.
the question is;

What doe one elitist institution say to another ?

"Do you think they'll notice we've taken in less state schooled kids this year?"
Ah, so that explains why the state of British politics is so regrettable

There's "influence" and there's actually running the world.
Would rather go to Cambridge than a uni which has "educated" people such as Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair, David Cameron etc.. :u:

Since when was Britain considered to be "the world"?

Check out the number of foreign Prime Ministers and Presidents educated at Oxford too..

Joshing aside, it IS pretty extraordinary.

The only way I can explain it is that it is self selecting process. The kind of people who aspire to high political office gravitate there, not Cambridge.

Unless anyone else has a theory?

You could argue that influence IS running the world.

How so?

She lost her job (it kinda comes with the territory) after a short (forgettable) tenure, to be replaced by YET another Oxonian, Boris Johnson.

Even the hated eminence grise, Dominic Cummings went there!

It is a post which has improved with age if anything...

I dont know, the May tenure fairly torpedoed it and Johnson has yet to prove his metal in any realm bar slavishly deferring to that egg headed prat Cummings.
