What did people put for why aren't large lumps of pt used? (something like that)

Why would excess conc. NH3 not be accepted though - surely that just makes [Cr(NH3)6]3+ which is a green solution?

That's purple - nh3 can be used to make cr(oh)3(h20)3 but not the cr(oh)6- - as excess Nh3 forms purple soloution

what is the full unofficial mark scheme for the chem5 paper with the marks for each question..
Please could someone guess what the grade boundaries for the Unit 4 exam will be?
That exam was incredibly difficult for me and I just want to get a C in it.

I have no idea for a C but I feel like an A* will be 80 and an A will be 72

I think full UMS will be 88/100, A* will be 81/100, A will be 74/100, B will be 67/100, C will be 60/100.

Would be my guess - but we'll find out day before results day I suppose...

sounds about right! do you really think a C will be 60% though?
Does anyone here have the Unit 5 paper?

I can't see it being any higher to be honest. That is direct raw to UMS percentage conversion giving the difficulty of the paper.

Midnight Tuesday 16th/Wednesday 17th.
CHEM4: 108/120
CHEM5: 111/120
CHM6T: 44/60

So a total of 533/600 - missed the A* by 7 UMS because of the ****ING ISA. So disappointed :frown:

I'll try remarking CHEM4 and CHEM5 but I'm not optimistic.

I was 6 UMS off, don't think I'm bothering for a remark though as only needed an A.
