French Prime Minister says we need to learn to live with terrorism

http://www.itv.com/news/update/2016-07-15/french-pm-france-is-at-war-with-terrorists/
French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said "Times have changed and we must learn to live with terrorism".

How about we don't learn to live with it and you do something about it? Maybe realise the ideology of the attackers and do more to attack ISIS and other terrorist groups? And maybe tell everyone what type of terrorist attack this was?

Oh of course, you're scared. Maybe just go back to telling everyone how peaceful Islam is and doing nothing to solve the issue of Islamic terrorism. Maybe Obama will tell us to ban trucks as well.

Notice how he doesn't even mention the I or M words

As long as people Like Hollande are in power that ignore the Muslim sectarianism these attacks will continue. And this is an Islam problem, Jews and Buddhists are not driving trucks into innocent civilians or preaching the death of gays and non-believers.

If you import a third world religion into your first world country don't be surprised when you have third world violence.

Completely agree. No one wants to admit that these terrorists are Islamic and that they are clearly influenced by their religion.

No-one wants to get it wrong and label it as a terrorist attack by a Muslim extremist until they are sure. Just common sense.

The terrorist shouted "Allahu Akbar" and he was of Tunisian descent (Tunisia is 98% Muslim). I think we can be sure that he was a Muslim. Especially as the attack was on Bastille day, we can confirm it as a terror attack.

it's like saying "Times have changed and we must learn to live with child murdering" *
If anyone thought the Front National didn't have a chance of winning in 2017, think again. They're already polling at 28% - and the spineless nonsense that Hollande says is exactly why he's not even polling at 15%.

Societal and political factors determine terrorism, not religion - that's why you had Muslims being massacred by Buddhists in Burma and Sri Lanka, Jews (well Israelis to be precise) terrorising Palestinians, Christians killing and expelling Jews in the masses throughout history up until this century just gone etc. There are specific contexts which results in this violence, and the religions themselves are not the main problem, rather it is the attitudes molded by different factors which drive people to commit acts of violence.

To bash the religion is just an ignorant lazy man's cop out of actually trying to constructively deal with the situation.

He already has confirmed it as a terror attack. We don't call something an IRA attack just because the perpetrator was Irish. We don't call something an Islamic attack just because the perpetrator was highly likely to be Muslim.

In a certain sense, that's correct. Sexual predators will always be around to abuse and murder children, and all we can do is try and make children as safe as possible without going as far as persecuting all the men in the country. We actually already accept this as a horrible part of life and we've learned to live with it - his message was that, sadly, the threat of terrorism is likely to be an ongoing part of life.

Yes but Irish is a nationality, not a belief system. Terrorists are influenced by beliefs.

Oh I get it, so terrorist and paedophilia are like viruses that we need to inoculate ourselves against? So we should all expose ourselves to a little paedophilia and terrorism so we build up a healthy resistance?

So the IRA was not influenced by Ireland and the concept of being Irish? Islamic terrorists re influenced by beliefs in extremist forms of Islam, just as the IRA are influenced by extremist views on what Ireland should be.
