BBC reporting crowds gathering at the airport to greet the President so I assume therefore the link above regarding his flight is correct.

CNN Turk also reporting he's landing at Ataturk.

I'm not surprised. There were several previous attempts when Erdogan came to power. He then took extremely harsh punishments, sentencing for life hundreds of officers, but the army hated him even more as a result.
