this may sound stupid but wondered how diverse with different scenes Newcastle university is?

for example Leeds is said to have a good 'indie scene' and wondered if this was similar to Newcastle University in anyway?

What kind of things are you interested in? There is some info about the music scene in Newcastle here http://www.ncl.ac.uk/undergraduate/newcastle/music/ but obviously there is a lot more going on! The students union has gigs and bands here is a list of some coming up http://www.nusu.co.uk/social/gigsandclubs/

There are loads of pubs and venues in the city so there is always something going on!
