Haha, whoever said that having Corbyn as Leader was bad... it's GREAT!!!
:frown: I keep on pointing out Corbyn's lack of electability, but only to be called a 'Blairite' or a 'Tory' online, despite being a Labour member and supporter... some seem to think that anyone right of Marx is extremely right wing. I'll vote for Owen Smith but I'd be surprised if Corbyn doesn't win. Hopefully Labour will have a good chance in 2025, though I wouldn't be surprised if Corbyn remained leader after losing in 2020, as a lot of the membership thinks he can do no wrong.
any communist/socialist is un-electable for me especially a idiot like corbyn

The personality cult around him is so strong that you're wasting your time trying to reason with them.

It's the Tories forever more as things stand.:frown:

For all his faults Blair = election winning, the fact you need to actually win to make real changes seems to be lost on them.

Who on earth is electable in the Labour party? People keep saying how bad Corbyn is, but show me your viable alternative. Owen Smith is not exactly going to lead the party to a great victory either lol.

Blair = also more right-wing in many ways than the Tories.
His anti nuclear weapons stance is unfortunate, because he seems like a genuinely nice person. But nice people rarely make good politicians.

Under the current global trigger happy climate, I don't think he's the leader for us. Best of luck to him, but god help us all if he gets elected :O

Yes, exactly! The need to win elections is seemingly not clear for them. The NHS, minimum wage, Freedom of Information Act and so much more could only happen after elections were won. It's all very well saying they would scrap tuition fees, but that means nothing unless you're in power and can actually enact it. But that - and the fact that Blair did some good - is ignored. Labour is becoming a mere pressure group, and a lot of people are seemingly happy with that for some reason. It's so frustrating.

After the general election loss last year, I thought that was the worst it could get. I was so wrong.

Well, what does that lead mean in comparison to seats last time?

Also there is one major thing that people are missing on this. Labour will be losing votes to May because of Brexit supporting old Labour votes, because they want Brexit secured and therefore are not going to vote for any Labour government, until that's well and truly done. This isn't actually Corbyns fault, although in saying that I can see that it might be good if someone else took over and took the rap, to prove a point to all of them and the Blairites.
I agree with his stance on some things like anti nuclear weapons but not on other things like immigration. However I think the only reason that he is unelectable is because the mainstream media is heavily biased against him.If they weren't so biased he could of won one but as it stands he wont because people just seemingly swallow everything the media says. This is why Ed miliband lost he didnt have the media on his side.

I think you're missing the point, that people don't want a political consensus, Blair was right of Thatcher on economics. They want something more radical, a break from the past and a genuine electoral choice. 'The Tories for ever' is barely to different to NuLab for ever, apart from a dose more sense.

Owen Smith isn't ideal, but Labour would be less likely to lose an election with him in charge. At the very least, Labour would have more seats than under Corbyn. Personally I'm a fan of Dan Jarvis, and I liked Andy Burnham.

I'd say that Chucka would be a threat (more or less openly accepting of wealth and business so would be acceptable to the middle classes who like to feel good). Keir Starmer i don't know much about in ideology however he has an extremely impressive proffesional background and was director of public prosecutions until 2013 under the Tories so it would be hard to hit him with attacks on his character.

Though i suspect i'd vote for May over either, i've been more pleased with her than i thought i would be.

Personally, I might have voted Labour at the next GE if Andy Burnham was Labour leader because I have been able to meet him at my college and he is lovely! (He is my college's principal's brother but I wanted him before I knew this)

I cannot and will not vote for Corbyn because I don't like his stance on communism and I don't believe he could run a country. I will vote for Conservatives in the foreseeable future unless there is serious change in Labour as it looks like they're tearing themselves apart.

Theresa May looks like a much better option to me

I'd suggest that the most able Labour politician - and almost certainly the most likely to win an election as leader - is probably Gisela Stuart. I thought she was one of the few who came out of the Brexit debate with their reputation enhanced (the only other probably being Ruth Davidson). Ironic really, given as she's also got to be one of those least likely to win a Labour leadership race.

This is how unhinged these Corbynite/Momentum-type people are. They've completely lost the plot.

This, unfortunately.

I've got to say, however, that I've inspected Owen Smith's policy proposals and he's just as insane as Corbyn is, which us surprising since he actually had a proper job before politics so he ought to have no excuse. The proposals he outlined in his recent speech in Yorkshire are so regressive that he's making those dinosaurs from the 70s look progressive. They would destroy the country. To top it off, in order to appeal to Corbynites, he had to say "I am just as radical as Corbyn" like that's a good thing as opposed to a completely mental case and un-electable thing.

I suppose he at least has the benefit of not having an extensive and consistent history of brown nosing people who's raised millions for Hamas, the IRA and he's not, as far as I'm aware, close friends with people who've publicly declared gays and Jews to be filth. Plus I don't think he's ever spent years on the take from the Iranian propaganda outlet Press TV while they broadcast confessions from political dissidents obtained under torture like Corbyn. Though he probably did unashamedly support the Venezuelan regime while they were making critical journalists and dissidents disappear off the face of the Earth on a regular basis while bankrupting their resource-rich country with the most retarded economic policies known to man like Corbyn..............

What a sorry state of affairs.

Dan Jarvis is fantastic (though he needs a little more time on the vine to ripen, in my opinion); Sir Keir Starmer is too.

Andy Burnham is absolutely terrible; widely reviled for being a spineless c-word and now a complete non-entity in the party since he spread his legs for the Corbyn cult in the pathetic hope of somehow being able to take over the party with Corbynista support when Corbyn steps down
