Red pill here so nope...

Well it really depends. I have a lot of respect for few feminists such as Christima Hoff Sommers who bases her arguments on fact. However modern, third wave feminists are unbearable. Especially when the majority of students in your school fall into this category and can't have a sane debate.

An old fashioned feminist if you will. Like all libertarian feminists (2nd wave), she believes that individuals should take responsibilities for their actions. She's famous for writing a book called Who Stole Feminism in which she criticises third wave feminism.
Feminists are cool, most of the women I know are feminists so...

Because men have the social power in the world. I'm not saying men's rights shouldn't be an issue. ( for example, domestic violence, international men's day, etc ) but seriously men's rights, are just important, but there, because they have sore social power are less men's rights and less to solved and dealt with 9 and are more recognised) than women's rights and majority of women's right are being 100% ignored ( tampon tax, etc). It's like saying #alllivesmatter.

You mean outside of Western Europe etc? Because here equality goes both ways… I'd agree with you if you were talking about the Middle East and Africa though. Plus don't use the alllivesmatter hashtag because the murder of blacks in America by the police is an actual problem

No it doesn't ( not really). Women have equal rights in a sense ( owning own homes, bank accounts, can do as they please ) but reality women are still seen as less than even in Britain, despite having equal luxeries ( which they had to work hard for). I mean it's an example ; to say women have equal right is like saying #alllivesmatter, both statements are correct, but obviously, as you know, that's not the issue here

The whole idea of feminism is undeniably great - and if you seriously think both genders shouldn't be equal then maybe there's something wrong with you. But the issue is that the 'bad' feminism or the 'fake' feminism, despite being a minority, is very vocal. Obnoxiously so. It's like a cycle:

Fake Feminist: All men are evil! Women should be superior! We are the only gender that faces issues! I'm a feminist and proud!
Average Male: What the hell?
Real Feminist: Both genders face issues and we need to work together to make sure all humans are treated with respect and dignity which can't be a one-sided battle. I'm a feminist and proud.
Average Male: Did you just say you're a feminist? I hate feminists. They all hate men. They're evil. Feminism is the bane of the earth. (And this opinion is very just given the experience with the fake feminist.)
Real Feminist: What the hell?

Feminism in its true form should be celebrated. It's not women-want-world-domination, it's women want people to be equal. True feminists want men's issues to be recognised just as much as women's. They want girls across the world to have an education just as much as they want male rape victims to be taken seriously.

They have a very bad rap because you'll see online EVERYWHERE videos of crazy fake feminists spouting off about ******** and being sexist towards men. These videos are so popular that it's hard not to associate feminism with female superiority. And that's not it at all.

So yes. I think feminism is fantastic. How couldn't it be?

We need to stop being scared of this word and realise that because you saw a few Amazing Atheist videos or Red Pill theories or whatever about women being evil controlling psychos that the whole movement itself is focuses on oppressing men. It's the very opposite.

Problem is that though the vocal obnoxious feminists may be a minority, the fact that they are so vocal and active means that their brand of feminism seems to be that which is having the most influence. Most people who are just normal feminists aren't doing a great deal to push their agenda. And, let's be honest, the movement is simply undeniably focused on women, even the "good" feminists are far more often talking about women's issues than men's. How could this not be the case when it is a movement spawned to help women specifically, whose very name betrays its gender bias?
A lot of them have daddy issues and they take out their issues on the entire entity of men.

Feminism is called feminism because so many gendered issues are rooted in misogyny. For example, why aren't male rape victims taken seriously? Because our culture loves to associate masculinity with a constant desire to have sex. So if a man didn't want to have sex, and if he was too weak to fight off a rapist, then his masculinity is called into question, and so he is seen as feminine. This results in him not being taken seriously because a man who isn't masculine is a joke, because our society equates femininity with weakness and worthlessness. This also results in crappy archaic beliefs like "you shouldn't hit women." That idea is technically true, but it's only true because you shouldn't hit anybody. It's stupid to suggest that something about being born with a vagina makes you not ok to hit. For some reason we carry on believing that if a man doesn't like being hit, that means he is feminine and therefore weak.

The best way to correct men's issues and women's issues is to get our society to reconsider how it feels about women and femininity. Hence "feminism," a movement for equality between genders.

But I agree that from my experience there's a... reluctance to loudly advocate feminism. But that is partly, I think, to do with the crap that feminism gets. I know that if I walked into a room filled with random men and said, "I'm a feminist. Let's do something about gender issues across the world." I'd get slated for it by at least one. People aren't all that open minded to it and I get it. It's easy to be prejudiced.

I personally care just as much about men as I do about women, but I don't think it should be a contest to see which gender has it worse. I think we should just get on with solving issues. I think the sooner the word feminism is treated with less hate, the sooner people feel more confident to stand up for the rights of men and women.

Feminists want people who are unequal (Men and Women) to be treated equally. (Men have 20x their T/E ratio and vice versa, Men have bigger brains and higher IQs, Women are more empathetic and emotional, Men more cool and rational and aggressive, see Testosterone, I can keep going)

Tell them that when you see them and watch their heads self-immolate because "does not compute does not compute!!!!"
feminism is pathetic. it's a philosophy of sharing failure with men. if feminists want equality, they need to stop blaming men for literally everything. you don't get equality by making men lower. it's absolutely shameful. disgraceful even. it's causing young women to actually believe that women are inferior, in my opinion, because they're forcefed this ********, like wage gap myths and myths concerning rape and domestic abuse which is usually based on made up stats and downright lies.

Some are cool, some are annoying, but I find sexist people to be more an irritation tbh.

The focus on misogyny annoys me. Some people are critical of either gender when their behaviour doesn't match with preconceptions. Tom-boys and girls with masculine features will get **** for it too, but nobody says that that's because we hate masculinity, so why is men getting **** for displaying feminine traits automatically because we hate femininity? Women aren't particularly criticised for being sensitive, typically considered a feminine trait, but men are. Men aren't particularly criticised for being promiscuous, typically considered a masculine trait, but women are. It all seems to me that it's about fulfilling your prescribed gender role, not about thinking femininity or masculinity are inherently undesirable for any individual.

And femininity is comparable with worthlessness? I am sorry but this seems ludicrous. Throughout history it has been men who have been expected to die for their country, it has been men who have been seen as disposable, it has been men who have sacrificed themselves. Men kill themselves at a far higher rate than women and scarcely anyone cares. More charities focus on cancers that solely affect women, when the cancers that solely affect men actually cause more deaths. There is a general societal feeling that men's lives matter less, not more. I am not saying this means men have it worse than women on the whole, but I am just demonstrating how even the more egalitarian, reasonable brand of feminism still seems to me to have its inherent biases.

I could also say that society has a problem with masculinity because they prescribe medication all too readily to brand and medicate children who display more masculine traits (ADHD, Asperger's, for instance), the education system is geared towards the organised and quick to mature, feminine traits, men get longer prison sentences because we hate their inherent aggression, men don't get custody of children because we think they are too uncaring, etc, etc. It seems that feminism looks at things through a lens, rather than seeing the whole picture for what it is.
