Which uni should I choose?

Please in terms of MSc in mechanical engineering, is Coventry better than Cranfield?.
I got an offer in both, but I am confuse on which to pick.

MSc in mechanical engineering - Coventry
Thermal power-Gas turbine option (Taught) - Cranfield.

I am also considering the prospect of PhD after my MSc, so which University is save and less stressful?

Those are very different courses, so you would be better off deciding which one you want to do more, and if vocational, which one will best suit your ultimate goal. The Coventry Masters is much more general and will leave you with a range of job and PhD options. The Cranfield Masters is very specific and will focus you more on a particular area of a particular specialism.

A Masters will never be low-stress, so looking for a lower stess university is a bit of a lost cause. Having said that, Cranfield is graduate-only so you will have none of the undergraduate student shennanigans going on around you. The main Cranfield campus is in a rural location miles from anything other than a small airport. Coventry is a more traditonal busy city centre campus with a full undergrad cohort.

It really depends on your personal preferences and what you want your Masters to do for you. With the right grade and references, either would make you a credible PhD candidate.

1. Loughborough University
2. University of Reading
3. Heriot Watt?

It doesn't matter as long as you get the required grades for the position your are aiming for including relevant work experience. This is to show your potential to the employer. Anything else can just be rounded off within a week or two of working. If you don't get a job in the company you initially aspired for you can work your way up and apply at a later date.Basically, if you get a degree anywhere in the world for a top 100 uni and yours is a top 1,000 then it wont matter in three years time once you get a position and demonstrate your talent as skilled labour.

Totally agree with you. Just that wanted to know the reputation and which Uni wld add value in terms of the course and overall experience.

Something is better than nothing. Imo, the top 70 universities in the UK (Nearly 100% of them) will be better than just acceptable because of the standard of education you will be receiving. Low IQ for UK students is just Europe making fun of us/ rest of world.

Reading and Loughborough both look beautiful and even have all of the typical things you would expect of a city. Each of the degree years from 1 through to 4 are more or less the same. This is good because you want to consolidate what you know whilst adding a marginal layer of complexity each year. I suppose that could be equivalent rivals for your degree - Good luck!
