How moderate are Muslims?

Regressives love to make the claim that "most" Muslims are moderates, and that 99.99% of Muslims are peaceful. The problem is, they never support these claims with any evidence. It's complete conjecture, which just seems as if it could be reasonable. Surely everyone in the world is just like us, right?

Here is real evidence:

These are polls conducted by Pew Research Center.

For more information see here; http://www.pewforum.org/2013/04/30/the-worlds-muslims-religion-politics-society-beliefs-about-sharia/

Do Muslims in the UK have more liberal views? According to this next poll, no. 52% of Muslims think homosexuality should be illegal: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/apr/11/british-muslims-strong-sense-of-belonging-poll-homosexuality-sharia-law

And according to this last poll, it seems almost all British Muslims think homosexuality is morally wrong, as not a single one questioned thought it was morally acceptable: https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2009/may/07/muslims-britain-france-germany-homosexuality

Disclaimer: Facts like these are wrong and I strongly condemn them. They should not be used to justify any form of criticism of Islam or its followers, or discrimination of any kind, or criticism of the government's policies relating to Islam, for example policies regarding immigration, multiculturalism, diversity, equality, race relations, religious tolerance.

Thanks for this.

Also, isn't it horrible how all these "facts" and this "evidence" may be construed as evidential that Muslims are not all moderate and peace loving? I hope everyone sees these "facts" and realises just how horrible "reality" can be, and boycotts it.

Perhaps you might benefit from learning about statistics. The margins of error are actually listed in the first picture, and the countries in which the surveys were conducted.
Regressives will call you Islamophobic, but if being Islamophobic is being against a religion that is deplorable and heinous in its attitudes then I'm happy to embrace the label. As a straight male, the consequences of Islam in society won't impact me as much as the people who seem to defend it like homosexuals and feminist women.

Ah, the old "I don't undertand opinion polls and statistical analysis" argument.

And yet, I'm sure that you would expect us to accept assertions about "moderate" views and "peacefulness", without you having asked every Muslim in the world.

You do realise that the very same polls are used by apologists as evidence of the low numbers who actively support Islamist terrorism?

The usual double standards of apologists.

As a (sort of) atheist, and someone who has bisexual and gay people who are very close to me, and someone who is friends with promiscuous men and women and even an escort, I find it hard to give a damn about people who would want myself and close relations jailed or even killed.
It's a shame not enough Muslims want the Sharia.

Do you think gays should be executed?
Was this like when the Sun told us that 800% of Muslims loved ISIS before that turned out to be BS?

The obsession that the far right OP has with Islam is deeply disturbing. I don't think he's made a single post on here which isn't about Muslims.
1.6 billion muslims surveyed, seems legit LoL

No it's not because PEW Research is a non-partisan highly respected organisation, and The Guardian is your house paper, so I seriously doubt you'd want to question its credibility.

Don't tell me what my 'house paper' is. I'm guessing yours is the Sun or Mail though.
Your obsession with Islam is disturbing.

You were probably the type who was posting about the Sun poll before that turned out to be BS.

Why are you obsessed? Do you not care about any other issues?

Perhaps you need a hobby.

You don't understand margins of error. The margins of error are on the sides of the polls. If you have are interested in how the polls have been conducted, the information is all on the PEW website.
