Should I keep this rotary watch

I got this for £71 rrp was £200 should I return it and get a citizen watch

Do you like the watch? yes or no?

Personally I prefer the metal watch straps and I don't like black bezels, but it's jewellery so it's all personal anyway. I personally quite like Rotarys, generally better timepieces than many higher end watches such a Rolex's. Not a fan of Citizens but as I said earlier, whatever you like.

just sell it for like £100 or +£150 then buy a pre-owned watch like a tag Heuer or a Longines
some real swiss horology
since the guy with 2 Rolexes and a Breitling who make a living out of selling Rolexes and the like

Where should I sell it, do you think pawnbrokers would buy it, where's the best place to buy a pre owned tag Heuer, I like Rolex but there too expensive

Sort of but the dials a bit small for my eyes bit hard to read, I like leather straps metal straps don't drop right on my wrist, Rolexes are too pricey I like citizen watches looks stunning

I think it's nice, it's a watch I would wear. But I think citizen watches are better, have a look to see if you like anything else because you're the one wearing it haha

Have you ever owned both a Rolex and Rotary? Rotary watches have quartz movements, some basic mechanical movements on more expensive products - still mass produced though. A Rolex is a hand made Swiss watch, which is made by the some of the most highly trained horologists in the world. Comparing the two is like comparing a ford (average but does the job well) and a mclaren (handmade excellence on a limited production run). I had a rotary and it worked for a couple of years then got chucked in the bin. My parents rolexes are 50 and 20 years old and both run perfectly after all those years.

To answer the OP's question. Citizens are better than rotary and I would get the citizen. What I did though was save up and buy a 1958 omega seamaster for £350. Runs like a dream and will probably last another 58 years! Quality lasts.

I agree with James the hustler. A longines would be a very good starter into the world of Swiss watches. Watches don't really age so a quality used watch is often better than a new average one. All a matter of opinion mind.

Never a Rolex, too expensive if I had loads of money I would buy a Cartier or a ap, your parents must have money to being buying Rolexes, I just need a decent watch that does what it does not too expensive not too cheap, I like citizens but most of them are metal straps, I like leather straps, where's the best place to sell the rotary, and £350 for a omega that's good but pricey

Rolex in terms of price are not worth it. They're relatively low quality products for their price and the amount of complaint concerning them is massive. Rotary are also swiss watches and are high enough quality to have been chosen as official timepieces for both the british army and air force....

I can't comment on modern Rolex quality, however I can say that vintage rolexes are superb and hold time incredibly well. The submariner is built like a tank - my parents' has been dropped countless times on hard floors and looks brand new and holds time impeccably. Furthermore it hasn't been serviced for over a decade. I expect standards have dropped as demand has risen. However this is a problem with many luxury brands. Just look at how good church's shoes were before prada got their dirty hands on one of britains best shoe manufacturers.

It may be that I just had a bad time with my rotary - it ended up spinning anti-clockwise and the bezel fell apart . Also the apparently un-scratchable sapphire glass was all scuffed after a year of office work. I Used to look after it too - it lead a pretty pampered life.

I think the problem with rolexes is that some people abuse them and expect them to work properly.

Rotary have been used from the 1940's at least in the forces, during ww2 especially seeing that's what made them so well known. Breitling are great, no argument there, they're personally my favourite brand. Vintage rolex... again great, but those produced in the last 20-30 years, not so much.

Rotary however for their price bracket are probably the best value for money. In all honesty my work watch, which is a Rotary, needs to be sent for repairs, but the repairs amount to £8 from an official dealer and is after 3 years of ownership (rough ownership at that). Despite most Rotary's being around £250-£400 they often are much better than many watches around the £800-£1000 bracket outside of certain specific models.

For how much did you sell them for, Rolex cost grands ain't worth it really you could buy so much more important stuff with it, I thought the quality was top notch but it ain't

Rotary a a popular brand didn't even know it was used in ww2 and that, rotarys, at least the repairs are cheap and yeah rotarys are good for their price
