Someone asked me to say my age I replied 'my age is 18 years old'
I'm freaking out because I know I should of said 'I'm 18 years old' Did the later response make sense in any way???????? I feel like I came across dumb af
I think it sounds a bit awkward yes, but it depends on the context. If you were in an interview situation etc. they could understand your nerves getting the better of you. If you just met someone and you're going to see them again or see them regularly then it should be fine, once they get to know you they'll realise you're not stupid. It's an easy enough mistake to make.

I saw your recent post on the 'Hi' thread. It was in a similar situation (audition for a TV series). I'm concerned because they taped my audition, and they asked the question before rolling the tape. The director will probably think I'm an idiot I hope they don't really look into that a lot, since it was a callback. Thanks a lot for responding mate!
