The Student Room Group

Just booked my 3 week Italy trip. AMA :)

So excited about this. Finally I'm going to be doing something other than work this summer

Got everything planned. I'm taking the train there due to my fear of planes :s-smilie:

Hopefully I can improve my level of Italian whilst I'm there!

Anyone got tips or questions?

Why are you afraid of planes?
How much was it (if you don't mind me asking)?
And what do you hope to do whilst you're there?

Just over €400

I'm going to several major cities. Hoping to sight-see and learn some more Italian, possibly even meet some people.

How long does the train take to get to Italy (I assume you need to make a number of changes?).

A full day.

A stop in Paris, then another in Turin.

The train was cheaper, and I feel that it'll be nice to be able to see the countryside as I go along and be able to move around and have more space.

Where are you going to visit? How much have you paid for everything inc travel , hotels etc?
I always stay in hostels when I'm by myself. It's cheaper and you get to meet people

Just over €400 so far, for trains and hostel booking fees. It will bump up by the end of the trip, but so far I'm making savings.

Naples > Rome > Florence > Venice > Milan > back home.
