The Student Room Group

Constipated for a week.

It's been a week and I already ate about 2 tablets of sennokot and they did kind of work well I felt something but whenever I try to poop it's not coming out and I don't know what to do. This never ever happened to me before. .

I tried taking in fibre today.

I'm going to eat 2 apples, had weetabix in the morning.

Any tips?
It's not that serious that I should Consult a doctor because there's no pain or anything. It doesn't hurt

Thanks

I suffered from really bad constipation and bowel pain after I had surgery and tbh i tried everything and honestly the two things which helped me were baked beans and drinking lemon juice twice a day(morning and night) for about 1 and a half to two weeks.
Prunes.

Oh no!

Mines just got bad this last week.
It never has ever been like this.

What do you advice me to do? I'm 16.

I'm trying to eat fibre and eat less rubbish then I have during constipation.

Prunes are dried plums. They're really good for getting things moving again. You can get them from any supermarket though I get mine from Aldi and they're cheap. 6 or 8 a day and you'll soon be pooping again.

Aw but I can't get them today.. anything else?

Do you think I should eat? As I've been starving myself today.

I ate a bit of chicken with a home made burger.

Drinking a lot of water can help.

I think eating Weetabix is a good idea too.
Pure orange juice, and bananas and a lot of water 😊

Just an fyi: unripe bananas can actually make constipation worse.

Coffee isn't that bad as it has caffeine?

Yeah, a lot of fruits are good for constipation. But be careful to not eat too many fruits though as too much fiber can actually make things worse.

Yellow with brown speckles or spots means ripe and if you peel them they will be slightly firm still, be sweeter and can be eaten, they're really lovely 💖👌🏼
