I can't believe that this turned into a bunch of people trying to justify rape, and having to be told that nothing justifies it.

I am sure that women do this already. I know I have done on holiday at the beach. I wouldn't at an indoor pool, as there would be no reason to; I'm not getting a tan and waves aren't tearing the bikini off. At an outdoor pool it would depend on the pool owner's rules and who was present.

Love how everyone in this thread has forgotten that there isn't a law against women being topless at all. There is a public indecency law, but that doesn't comprehensively cover breasts.

If you go to any European beach (apart from those dominated by Brits), you will see hundreds of German/French/Spanish women of many ages topless. It's quite disturbing actually, not being able to look anywhere without seeing some tits, it's very weird. Guess that's Europeans for you.

I'm against women being able to go topless. It's the same as a man having his cock out- it's a part of the body that the opposite sex is inherently interested in and sometimes fascinated by. A man's chest is just doesn't have the same sexual attractiveness as a woman's boobs.

First of all, I love me some good pecs. Second, people are only inherently interested in breasts because of breasts being covered up to begin with. You see tribal women with the gals out all the time and the TV reporter isn't following them around with a roaring stiffy. Because it's not sexual - it's their way of life. But the West, the only time people are really accustomed to seeing breasts is foreign beaches, yes, but primarily during sex or watching porn. They're heavily sexualised purely because it's less acceptable for women to get them out than men (which has its basis in religious modesty). When the weather got warm, if you saw as many women topless as men, sure you'd start to lose that feeling that breasts are sooo arousing.

So far the only argument I'm hearing against women having the same T-shirt freedoms as men is that men for some reason think they don't have to control themselves and can claim the body of the nearest woman if she has her boobs out. That problem is entirely your own to sort out. You're doing your gender a disservice if you think you can't wait until you get to the nearest bathroom before knocking one out after seeing a boob. Perhaps invest in a chastity device before going to the beach again if you're that uncontrollable, fellas o.O

Any actual real differences we can debate on?

I know it's popular in some circles to consider that a "socialized" concept, but it's been with us since the beginning.
People in that instance then point to tribes and societies where women go topless and say "see?? not sexual", except they seem to overlook that man CAN control themselves, especially if they're raised with tits out.

Just as any guy here who's been in a long-term relationship can overlook his partner's tits hanging out around the house....until sexytime is on.

I can go to a nudist beach and see tits everywhere and control myself, ignore it, take on that doctor-like 'professional' attitude towards them easy enough.

But at the end of the day (in many cases literally...) boobs are part of the sexual appeal of women. When I get to properly admire a pair and touch them and go to town on them it serves to get me nice and interested in the sex soon to come.

After all if breasts hadn't been evolutionarily selected as a sexual characteristic, women wouldn't be walking round with tits to need to cover or argue over not covering. They'd all be flat-chested.

TL;DR Boobs are a secondary sexual characteristic, and while men can control ourselves (most of us...), and while we could possibly have a "topless" society, when it comes down to the hard cold facts, boobs = sexually arousing for the majority of men.

I think they should have the right to choose to if they want to, it is their bodies. It also might start to desexualise women's breasts over time as people become more accepting and are less shocked when they see a woman topless. It could also be the next step in a trend of women having more freedom in clothes as we've already had short skirts, tight jeans, spaghetti straps, crop tops, and bikinis, which women are free to choose to wear or not to wear as they want

Breasts are part of a woman's body (obvs) which is what us (straight) men are attracted to? To what extent do you wish them to be desexualised?
