How do i survive on £10 a week?!

you need to find cheaper accommodation and/or a job quickly

can yo find enough food to survive on £10 a week? probably... however you'll be really unhealthy (living on rice/pasta) and you will have nothing at all for extras - socialising, clothes, train home, etc - expenses will likely come up at some point in the year whether it's ripping your jeans, shoes wearing out or your laptop breaking, you really need a bit more than the bare minimum

Apply for weekend jobs or jobs that you can do from home. If you really want, take a bank loan...

Get a student bank account and you can get up to £3000 overdraft interest free until you graduate and then can start paying it back. So just overdraft just under £3000 for your uni time and it's pretty much just another loan that will help increase that £10 per week :biggrin:

I don't understand how your parents are on low incomes yet you have such a small amount of money. Expensive accommodation? Miscalculation?

My parents were on the lowest income threshold and when I was at uni before I had money to burn. (literally, I smoked 20 pound notes :bandit:

You could open an Ebay account, if you don't already have one. See if you can sell old clothes, shoes, CDs and DVD's you don't want.

Falmouth University also have an student ambassador system! This means you can apply to be an student ambassador for the University and most importantly earn money. I think its around £6.70 per hour. Your job will entail working open days, assisting at interview days and site visits! And best of all you chose when you want to work so it doesn't interfere with your University work. This definitely helped me get through Uni, and looks great on your CV.

why are you doing it weekly? just do it fortnightly like stretch your meals (unless you're on meal plan) budget your meals to last two weeks so you're not spending each week, dunno.

and I've sold DVDs before, unused, they go for like under a quid

even premium box sets go for under a tenner

I know. But some things you can have for sale for one or three days so you hopefully get paid quicker. You can transfer the money you are paid directly from your Pay Pal account into your bank account. Yes, it's a pain waiting for buyers to pay you [as I am at the moment]. But i've made a fair bit of money selling things over the years. It depends what you have to sell, I guess. I sell pointe shoes. I have over a hundred pairs. If I am a bit skint I will sell a pair. [Pointe Shoes are special ballet shoes that females wear so they can stand on the very tips of their toes]. I also buy and sell rare Moulin Rouge programmes. Some have sold for over a hundred pounds. [I've also bought ones for the same price too, but I was a dancer there, and I love collecting them and see them as an investment anyway].

Find a part time job. Easy £50 per week extra working 1 day a week.

You can't find something cheaper, or split grocery costs with flatmates? £580 a month is extortionate.
