No. Why else would they get someone that young?

if you want a job, get a job. Don't be greedy.

Yes, when I was 16 I worked in a phone store and made £7.10/hr + commission.

I'm not sure about for 16 year olds but my friend who's 17 works in Nandos and they pay £7.20 an hour which is almost double the minimum wage.

You can become your own boss, by starting up a business
Most supermarkets don't age discriminate Aldi pays £8.80 an hour
Sainsburys £7.20 waitrose £7.50 plus a yearly bonus. Tesco £7.20

Or become an escort

Isn't that illegal?
I am currently 16 and make 7.30 per hour. I work in a theatre. I love my work. However, I think I was a bit lucky because they did not really notice that I was under 18 until I signed the contract.

I am 16 and work at Ibis hotel and earn £7.20 an hour. It's alright, the pay makes it worth it.

what sort of work do you do?
become a milkman we need more of those now so I guess you'd get paid £52,000 per annum

Work in the restaurant for breakfast... Wipe tables, clear plates, fill up the buffet when it gets empty, Hoover and mop sometimes etc.
Another thing I would say is try and do something you enjoy. You are 16 and still in education and hopefully are not very depended on the job. (When it comes to money) If you love your work even if you work long hours when you can then it would not seem like it.

For me personally the money is really just a bonus right now because I am still with my parents. Even if you don't earn 7.20 but you enjoy your job then it could be a very nice outcome.

Supermarkets, and those jobs where you cold call people
Waitressing is often decent pay depending on how the tips are given out.
Tesco pay more than £7/hour for 16yos and are honestly brilliant employers. I loved working for them. Same goes for most other supermarkets (apart from Morrisons)
My friends an estate agent and makes £9 an hour plus commission
